Why are they so bloody noisy, is it just that people who drive them are bloody inconsiderate? There's some knob sitting outside with one revving it up and it's really fucking annoying!

YANBU

YANBU

my evil violent b@stard EX step dad has one.

OH & I refer to them as penis extensions Wink

northerngirl41 · 13/02/2011 20:00

Now I have to say - I used to have one of these and MAN was it fun to drive!!!! There is something about the unbridled joy and complete unashamedness of them being nothing more than a boy racer car. It goes fast. It looks wanky. It's fun!!

But totally and utterly unreasonable to have a massive exhaust on them and to pointlessly rev it - you can get the turbo version which is so much more zoom with less noise.

Calm yourself with the knowledge that said knobhead is too stupid to even buy the really good version of this car...

sevendwarves · 13/02/2011 20:00

nannyl they definately are!

Awwww I drive a subaru and I love it.Ive never been called a knob (plenty of other things but never a knob) and I really dont need a penis extension. Its a great wee car in the snow, can go over/through any snow bank I point it at.Its good on gas and goes like greased lightning:o .Mine isnt noisy either
Mind you Im a middle aged mother of 4 so I dont sit revving it up outside peoples homes, though I have been known to lean on the horn till whichever kid Im waiting on gets his butt out the house and into the car Blush

sevendwarves · 13/02/2011 20:09

drivingslowly do you drive it at night? If so do you realise how much your stupidly loud car probably annoys your neighbours?

OP posts:
sevendwarves · 13/02/2011 20:10

Maybe it's just the imprezza that's noisy then?

gordyslovesheep · 13/02/2011 20:11

YABU I drive one I am a 40 year old mother of 3 - I drive considerately and slowly

the make of car doesn;t make you a knob - the behaviour does - see all the 4x4 threads!

Eeeeeek mines an imprezza, they are considered noisy? Ive got a very quiet car, honest, its one of the reasons I bought it

gordyslovesheep · 13/02/2011 20:15

I drive an RB320 - it IS noisy but not excessively

justonemorethen · 13/02/2011 20:17

Think it's the Imprezza not Subarus in general. Every second person in the village drives the estate or 4 wheel drive variates and they are all in bed by 9.30pm. Top Gear hasn't got many reveiws back on Subarus which according to my father means they are owned by sensible people with lives.

My mum's nearly 59 and she drives a sensible Subaru but bought it from a young lad who'd tried to un-sensible it by putting an exhaust big enough for a tractor on it. You can hear her car coming from literally miles away Shock and it's quite incongruous to see a petite, respectable, grey-haired lady arriving in such a vehicle. She loves it Grin

DH used to have a Forester and the only other people I saw in them were average age 65.

Am assuming Seven means the imprezza?

sevendwarves · 13/02/2011 20:30

I do mean the imprezza, didn't realise there were quiet ones as well Blush

OP posts:
PatriciaHolm · 13/02/2011 20:31

We have an Impreza (one z [grin}), but it doesn't HAVE to be noisy. Ours has the mid range engine, no trick exhaust etc, and we drive it considerately. Twats who sit outside their house revving insanely are just inconsiderate wankers, and would be whatever they drove.

bulby · 13/02/2011 20:31

And I'm assuming that only the touring car version as the standard imprezza is no different to any other saloon car. In the same way golfs are family cars unless you get a sipped up gti IYSWIM. Saying I hate subarus is like saying I hate fords

bulby · 13/02/2011 20:32

That should read souped up

For me a subaru is the souped up car BIL used to drive.

More recently it's mentioned in so now I am singing annoying crap in my head.
