Memoo · 13/02/2011 15:22

I've just sent dh to sainsburys and he had taken dd too Grin

Amieesmum · 13/02/2011 15:22

I especially hate the tedious online type! Need to get me one of those I-phones with a scanner i think!

WriterofDreams · 13/02/2011 15:32

Yup I hate it. My sister who is a complete loony absolutely loves it. I went shopping with her once. Never again. She actually browses. In a supermarket. It took her 45 minutes to buy 5 things. I nearly strangled her. DH now does all the shopping online, I have nothing to do with it. It's great.

MrsSparkle · 13/02/2011 15:32

I don't mind it that much. Could never get it online though as i hate the thought of someone else picking my meat etc for me.

southeastastra · 13/02/2011 15:32

i enjoy it too for some reason!

MrsSparkle · 13/02/2011 15:34

I have to say that unless i'm in a rush, i am a browser tooBlush I am also the loony lady who checks the price per kg on everything and reads the back of the productBlush

ThatVikRinA22 · 13/02/2011 15:36

life is just too short.

so now DH does it online! Grin

NinkyNonker · 13/02/2011 15:37

Online, definitely.

ChippingInAuntyToThomas · 13/02/2011 15:39

I don't mind doing it. I don't mind putting it away - what I do mind is carrying it into the house - on line delivery is GREAT :) Get the bulk delivered and have a nice wander around when I feel like it - perfect :)

(MrsSparkle - I'm veggie - solves that problem Wink)

Georgimama · 13/02/2011 15:39

I hate supermarkets.

We went and did our shopping yesterday morning at the butcher, greengrocer and farmer's market. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff who gave a monkies about their produce; no long queues; actually cheaper than the equivalent shop in Tesco.

Bliss.

MrsSparkle · 13/02/2011 16:04

I wouldn't want someone picking out my veggies eitherWinkGrin

I go to green groucers though, much cheaper and nicer.

pagwatch · 13/02/2011 16:08

I do on- line riders and just click through 'favorites' so it takes no time at all.

Dh always does the big supermarket shop and takes ds2 or dd. Apparently ds2 is fantastic at unloading the trolly and helping packing Grin

pagwatch · 13/02/2011 16:08

Riders?

orders

Ragwort · 13/02/2011 16:09

Actually I love supermarket shopping - I would be happy to do it for a job - sad I know but I love checking out the bargains and special deals - yesterday I even went to two different supermarkets and this morning went to another Blush - must get a life Grin.

I have never been spoken to rudely in a supermaket, I used to live in the country and found the staff in 'independent' shops generally much ruder and off-hand - one assistant turned the lights off and shouted at me as it was two minutes past five once Grin.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 13/02/2011 16:15

I hate it.I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT.

I always spend too much to make up for the boredom and then feel really guilty.

I dont even like food that much and I only it a teeeeeeny bit of what I have to buy AND I am a veggie!

The only interesting bits are the clothes and baby/home stuff. I am getting fed up of being dressed in Sainsbury's stuff (I used to be a punk FFS).

Its all so bloody depressing.

I often get teary in supermarkets. I am always seeing things that remind me of DD so not only am I bored but I look like a fecking loon!

If I take the kids they cause havoc and if I dont I feel guilty for going out without them.

My life is soooooooo hard

Grin
Doyouthinktheysaurus · 13/02/2011 16:17

I hate supermarket shopping!

I do it all online, don't mind that too much. I get a cold sweat every time I go into a supermarket carpark since I had a prang in tesco carpark 15 months agoBlush

happybubblebrain · 13/02/2011 16:19

I really like supermaarket shopping. I prefer doing on my own though so I can browse, look at labels, look at prices, stand and think for a while then spend about an hour looking at homewares and DVDS. If I'm with dd or someone else I get a bit stressed and feel like I need to rush it. I could happily spend a whole morning in a supermarket on my own.

ChaoticAngelofAnarchy · 13/02/2011 16:25

I don't mind supermarket shopping, it usually takes me less than an hour to get round and through the checkout. I hate having to put it away once I'm home though.

AllGoodNamesGone · 13/02/2011 16:50

I do most of it online and, at first, found it really liberating, but have now grown to hate doing it online too! Still not as bad as actually going there.

I time the deliveries carefully so my DH will be home to help put it away!

DH is more organized than me so he does the shopping list which is great, otherwise I'd just be slinging all sorts of random stuff into my virtual trolley out of sheer frustration!

A boring chore as far as I am concerned!

Ragwort · 13/02/2011 16:58

happybubblebrain - can we be friends -could meet in supermarket cafes? Grin.

i do it online and mostly order the same stuff as last time cause i can't be bothered changing anything.

get my veggies from an organic bag scheme anyway.

Ragwort · 13/02/2011 17:24

Genuine question - do those of you who do your grocery shopping on line really love food/cooking/eating? Or is it just another household chore?

I am sure the reason that I enjoy shopping so much is that I am obsessed love food and deciding what to cook, trying out new recipes etc so a lot of the fun for me is searching around for new ideas and ingredients.
