Just because she has got thunder thighs? Yes, I know I am, but I would love to put a pashmina round her to save her from the deep humiliation she will feel one day when she looks back on those early days.
Plus she almost destroyed a certain song for me.

Crikey I've just seen a picture of her and she most certainly does not have thunder thighs and anyway photos / film add a stone.

I think she looks fantastic, and if I had her figure I'd be showing it off too.

A size 12 is not overweight or large, you talk as if it is it isn't. Depends on your height if you are a fucking gnome of 4ft a size 12 is on the large side.

Im 5ft 2" small and a 12 I'm not mahooosive.

She must be a size 8/10.

Jlo has a large ass and made a fortune out of it. Good on her.

She has got strong, muscular thighs. But I could live without seeing them.

What I object to is that fantastic singers, if they are young women, have to wear next to nothing in the first place. Seriously, why?

Why can't we enjoy them as singers without having to watch them prance around in leotards? It just seems so sexist.

She looks great, but I don't get why she should have to practically strip off. A nice frock would do, and we could focus on her voice.

BOF, I agree that it is very tragic that young female performers are pushed into wearing almost nothing on stage (and you can be sure they are pushed into it, by their management etc), when surely their talent should be focus. I also find it sad that the likes of AB are forced to channel their talents into poor covers (Hallelujah made me wince) and poor pop songs, but again, that is down to their management, and probably a different issue entirely.

I vehemently disagree with the OP that AB has 'thunder thighs' or looks 'horrendous'/'horrible' or whatever the exact words were. She has larger thighs than the average LA 'starlet', and that can only be a good thing. She looks toned and healthy. What an excellent role model for teens obsessing about their weight.

FWIW, when I was younger, I was anorexic. I had a shoebox filled with magazine cutouts of super skinny 'slebs', which I looked at when I was hungry and used as my inspiration to keep starving myself. I would much prefer teens to emulate the likes of AB, than skinnies with thighs the same width as their calves, and ribs one could play xylophone on.

I'm sure they could stand up to the pressure if they were confident and bolshy, and their talent would likely still out. I think that unfortunately, many of them are a bit on the thick side (and I don't mean of thigh), and it doesn't occur to them to challenge anything because they leave their career management to others and hope to just be successful in terms of what they are told it takes. Which is a great shame.

Ummmm... I don't wanna sound... You know...

But... The idea of thunder thighs with her doesn't even occur to me. Because... In my culture and in most African/ Carribean culture, big thighs and ass is a blessing on a woman. I don't know one, and I mean ONE, African/ Caribbean guy who would not want it as a feature on thier ideal woman. My DP loves it when I gain weight. I am a 12 at the moment and when we met I was a 10. 12 is the biggest I get but he loves my body way more now than before. Look at all the hip hop video's and you will see it is considered a very attractive thing and not to be covered up AT ALL. This has started to permeate pop culture too and bigger bums and thighs on women are definitely recieving a lot of praise.

I agree that her stylist is awful, but her body is not. Her style is not down to her and it seems that she is being marketed very badly, but her body is fine. Nothing wrong with a big bum and thighs on a woman, wish the lord had blessed me with a bit more in that department.

The problem is we are used to seeing the thighs of stick insects, so it may be normal to think AB has big thighs. In truth she does not, she just had bigger thighs that we normally see in the media, I kind of think good on her.

She looks very fit and healthy imo.

Maria Carey is someone who likes herself just a little too much......

Yabu - very nasty in fact. It just shows what a distorted idea some people have of what is normal. AB has a very healthy, strong looking figure, and she looks great in what she wears.

There was research last year that suggested that larger thighs are associated with better health. Especially on someone like AB, whose thighs are nearly all muscle.

Alexandra burke has a gorgeous figure, and yes I've seen her up close in person in one of her skimpy stage outfits.

I've never watched X factor or whatever it is so I don't think I've actually ever heard her sing. She's very pretty and has a lovely figure though.

Shame, as Hecate and others said, that she has to flaunt quite so much of it in tiny outfits whilst adopting stripper poses. It seems to have become normal for pop videos to be semi pornographic. I shudder to think of the messages young minds are taking from them.

And if that makes me a boring, repressed Daily Mail reader, I couldn't give a fuck.

Oh - I stand by what I said about her. I never said that she was particularly overweight, just not shapely enough to look nice in those costumes, nor aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. Wrt suggestions, I would post a pic on my profile but that would be a bit silly - I am not exactly offended by the suggestion as I reckon that even at my worst .....

AB looks great - my thighs are certainly not so smooth as that! I agree that the costumes are a bit much, however style decisions are probably made by the record company.

Akexandra is a good singer, but her vocal tone is not distinctive enough for it to stand out on its own without some embellishment, hence the next-to-nothing togs.

She looks far better than the usual stick thin, emaciated look that so many young stars adopt these days
