to deeply object to Alexandra Burke wearing skimpy costumes

Just because she has got thunder thighs? Yes, I know I am, but I would love to put a pashmina round her to save her from the deep humiliation she will feel one day when she looks back on those early days.
Plus she almost destroyed a certain song for me.

Bollocks to looking back to when you were young and beautiful and being ashamed.

I used to think I was fat and hideous. I saw a photo of my aunts from when I was 26, I was bloody lovely looking, with a great figure. Why was I so paranoid and WHY did I think I was so corpulent? I wish I had strutted around in hot pants.

She looks to be the correct weight for her height which in the celeb world probably does make her huge. Very sad that being a healthy weight is considered by some to be 'hideous'. And I don't think she's the butt of all jokes due to her size - The Daily Mail and celeb magazines find flaws to point out in the most emaciated celebrities.

I also think she looks great. Healthy and toned, and a 'natural' weight (ie it doesnt look as though she is dieting constantly to maintain it, like certain celebs) She is perfectly entitled to feel confident about her body, I would if I looked that good!

Thunder thighs? What do you prefer her to have - skinny pre-pubescent boy type legs? Yanbu and you are so wrong about her gorgeous legs. I hate to think what type of legs pass your judgey taste if you think hers are thunder thighs

I think (infact I have it on good authority) that she is a great person. I don't even think she is fat. It is just that she does not have the proportions to carry off the outfits she always seems to wear. Nobody of her proportions could carry that off - if you disagree, cite some example. Sue the stylist - she is taking you for a ride.

A lot of singers wear that type of "outfit" now a days, I don't understand it really, expecially when they do the bend right down and spread the thighs apart type moves! Christina/Britney/Rhianna/Madonna/LadyGaGa/Bionce(sp?)/Katie Perry. They all dance in their video's so maybe it is to do with the moves?

Do you remember Victoria and Britney in their leather all in one's, they were much better!

I think they would do better than the exercise leoatard or knickers and bra outfit, I always thought that it was due to styling they dressed like that!

They quite often look much nicer in something along the lines that someone like Leona Lewis would wear.

i think she looks athletic and healthy.

i quite liked her version of hallelujiah (sic) and think her voice is great. the jeff buckley version everyone gets so sniffy about is also a cover, don't forget.

x factory/pop trype stuff really not my thing but form what i can see shes pretty talented.

thegreat - because I assumed that most people in the public eye would want to look reasonably attractive which would definitely be achievable if she put something (albeit something teeny-weeny) over the lingerie.

getorf - I know what you mean. I spent years feeling like a heifer (because I couldn't get into size 12 french connection jeans). I always thought I was hideously overweight. I did get more confident, but not til my late 20s.

Somewhat ironically, I am now older, and hideously overweight. But still more confident about my shape now than when I was 19 :)

I personally don't like the whole pornification of women in pop music. I think it is disgusting that women degrade themselves like that for the entertainment of men - and that's why they do it. To be sexy to men. It's so demeaning.

But be that as it may, she is a healthy weight, not a 'thunder thighs' and there is nothing wrong with how she looks.

You are comparing her to women who are dangerously underweight and who are being paraded as the ideal.

YABU to think that she should cover up just because her thighs are not to your liking. You either object to too much display of flesh on anyone, or you don't.

But I don't think she has a nice body either.

I know it is vacuous, I agree, but I am pointing it out for selfless reasons. I would like to know how many of the anti-OPs dress like that in similar circumstances

It's not a great outfit but her thighs look good. They look strong like the thighs of s sporty person. Does she dance? If she dances she'll need strong thighs.
