I convinced my DS that the red hazard button on the dashboard was for an ejector seat for naughty children - it was years before he found out it wasn't, but the poor chap nearly shat himself when we broke down and I reached over to press the button!!! Grin

What other fibs have you told your children to make life just that little bit easier?

My DC collect all the snails in the garden and put them all in a bucket to 'go on holiday'. Keeps them busy for ages Smile

I told dd they only pluck the ducks to make our quilts and pillows and they grow back their feathers.

She is 12 and still believes me!

I wish I knew more about it, her family emigrated from Scotland just after the first world war.

My Nan was born there, but they went back to Scotland when she was nine, so I suppose she might not have remembered many of the details even if she was still alive.

When I was growing up it just seemed normal to me, so I never asked. Sad
