"Can't wait to tell my cousin how irresponsible she was when she gave her dog to her sister without recourse to a rescue centre. Too funny!"
Funny? Really?
Oh yeah, dogs being killed for want of homes is hysterical, MummyGil.
And I have no doubt at all that your cousin and her sister have in comparison to me a superior understanding of the problems faced when an owner no longer wants/can keep his dog and that they have a superior knowledge and experience of the dire situation that is lack of rescue places and of the thousands upon thousands of dogs who die for want of homes each year. Of course they do. We rescuers are all wrong and you, your cousin and her sister know better.
Oh well, now I know where to come later today when another appeal such as this drops in my inbox
When those dogs were posted they had less than 24 hours to live. The red "Sorted" type remarks were added at the eleventh hour. I get maybe ten or twenty such appeals a day. Some are for a single dog, some are for ten or more dogs in a pound, some are for a dog unwanted by some idiot for a numbskull reason such as having a child. Invariably the dogs don't have long to live and let me tell you lady, getting them rescue spaces is a huge bloody fight and you are speaking out of your arse to imply otherwise.
The very vast majority of rescues are full to the brim most of the time. And the good ones contract to take any dog which they rehome back should ever the dog be unwanted, so preventing them from being passed around to cousins and sisters in unchecked homes or landing up in pounds facing death again.
