I think life is too short. And the DC can't reach it without standing on a stool.

DH thinks IABU and idle.

DH can sort it himself then IMO.

Plus cutlery stands are naff. Drawers are dust free and neat (with a divider insert).

HTH !!

cyb · 08/02/2011 17:11

Chuck it in drawer

BusyMissIzzy · 08/02/2011 17:11

YANBU, bin the stand.

ChippyMinton · 08/02/2011 17:12

Naff? Oh yes.

Flies can't land on cutlery if it's in a drawer, tell him!

ChippyMinton · 08/02/2011 17:17

YANBU and are a woman after my own heart. Open drawer. Lob cntents of dishwasher basket into drawer with single movement. Close drawer. Done.

Complainants are welcome to tidy the drawer themselves while I do the Telegraph crossword with a cup of tea.

Childlinechick · 08/02/2011 17:54

You are a slattern.
And probably a drunk and an unfit mother too. Wink
I love your name.

ChippyMinton · 08/02/2011 19:44

Childlinechick - are you my DH?
Thanks re name Smile

You must be very posh

Ooopsadaisy · 08/02/2011 21:13

I didn't know there was such a thing as a cutlery stand.

YANBU.

ChippyMinton · 08/02/2011 21:14

No, I have a DH with a taste for the practical (or so he claims)!

Right, it's 5-1 in my favour. I need more votes please, or he will accuse me of fixing.

YABVU

You should have chucked that stand away the day you bought the set. [grin}

Underachieving · 08/02/2011 21:15

That was meant to be a Grin

TrollyMcTrollPants · 08/02/2011 21:21

If you truly detest said stand, could it not fall to the floor mid work-top wipe and be destroyed played with by a passing child/pet? Or get unknowingly tromped on?

This, alas, is what happened to DP's awful lovely plate stand... Grin

MmeLindt · 08/02/2011 21:23

Cutlery stands are common.

Drawer is posh.

MumOfAPickle · 08/02/2011 21:23

Throw the cutlery in the drawer and the stand in the bin Smile

Another vote for you

ChippyMinton · 08/02/2011 21:28

Did I mention we having a pair of the bl**dy things? That makes me doubly determined to ditch them.

SalvadorDalek · 08/02/2011 21:31

can you put a photo of this stand on your profile
It sounds jolly interesting

Mists · 08/02/2011 21:33

No no no, Shock it goes:

Knives, forks, spoons

FabbyChic · 08/02/2011 21:34

I agree ditc the stands cheap and nasty things.

ChippyMinton · 09/02/2011 08:35

DH has gone out. I have unloaded dishwasher and put the cutlery in the tray in the drawer (Mists :from left to right - spoons, forks, knives, teaspoons in front). The stands are under the sink.

He will be home before me tonight, so we shall see whether he has re-instated them.

YANBU. I dont' have perforated cutlery, but my FiL does. It takes up valuable space in his tiny kitchen, but he refuses to consider putting the stuff away in a drawer. He is a total knobend though.

BeenBeta · 09/02/2011 08:44

Nah. Life is way too short. Just get a cheap set, wip it out of the dishwasher and chuck it in the drawer.

DW likes to dry everything but I recon if its been dried in the dishwasher, its dry enough. The rest can evaporate. Grin

shushpenfold · 09/02/2011 08:48

Drawer....unless of course he'd rather BE the cutlery stand....if you throw them hard enough I'm sure they'd stick.
