I think life is too short. And the DC can't reach it without standing on a stool.

DH thinks IABU and idle.

Stands are just horrible, get grimy unless you wash them all the time, take up worktop space, potential hazard if knocked off worktop onto child/pet/feet.

Bin it unless maybe DH wants to do it all himself? IMHO whoever's dealing with the chores gets to do them the way they want - he's got no business telling you what to do Smile

Ha ha, war has been declared.
He emptied the dishwasher and dumped the cutlery on the shelf where the stands used to be! I have now chucked in in the drawer Grin

are you from a 70's holiday home?

didn't know they did these in rl

LoopyLoopsPoopaScoop · 10/02/2011 16:13

Chuck the stand. Unnecessary clutter.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 10/02/2011 16:14

I think having a 'stand' to hang them all on is unreasonable. :o

What a faff.

And they will get dusty.

ChippyMinton · 10/02/2011 16:15

Oh god - 70s, that's not even vintage is it? I should never have allowed the blardy things in the first place Blush

YABU not to chuck out the stand immediately and save yourself from any further issues on "hanging cutlery" (I fecking hate it)

ChippyMinton · 10/02/2011 17:40

I feel so liberated LOL
What else should I get rid of?

banana tree? Coffee cup tree? useless kitchen tools you've never used? Tired/stained tea towels?

ChippyMinton · 11/02/2011 12:35

Haven't got any other hanging devices, thankfully.
I love your name. I can find stuff to chuck but have a problem following through to the actual chucking.

Another vote for chuck in drawer! Tidier.

Tortington · 11/02/2011 12:41

i still mine in one of those containers that i presume one uses to stick them in to drip dry after hand washing.

that is where they stay on that container on the shelf

come meal times - container goes in centre of table and everyone helps themselves

Chuck cutlery in a drawer and stamp on the stand.

Even my Mum has got rid of her stand and she is the queen of kitchen tat. At last visit she had a banana tree, a hanging egg holder, a cup holder, kitchen towel thingeyHmm
