I can't wait for the Olympics to be over.
The only people to benefit will be the Overseas owners of the hotels and airlines, Even most of the rail networks in the SE are owned by foreigners.
And shame on the Olympic committee for choosing the 'Official' Souvenirs for the games, 90% of which will be produced by foreign companies. http://www.londonolympics2012.com/default.aspx?atk=2456 details here Why? because it means more profit for all the middle men negotiating with manufacturers in the far east. (And I dread to think of some of the conditions that some of them will be produced under) For a little less profit, they could have sourced British Companies to produce items.
The Londoners who will be footing a large part of the cost of the Olympics via Council Tax, will be subject to months of travel inconvenience, and won't be given priority in buying tickets, let alone any freebies. And just to add insult to injury they have recruited mugs volunteers to man the car parks, and a thousand other menial tasks, to save on costs. These 'volunteers' will not even receive so much as a ticket to an event. Just a T shirt to wear whilst 'volunteering' and a meal on 'duty'.
This all being hyped up as having a positive effect on Britain, and anyone who disagrees is guilty of not 'Having a Pride in Britain'
Well sorry, I find it hard to have pride in a country whose government sit by and watch unemployment numbers rise, and allow representaives of 'Proud GB' hand business to other nations in order to celebrate 'GREAT' Britain.
