I am fat and people hate fat people. That has been proven in a recent thread. I feel like a failure and a loser because I struggle to not to eat delicious things. Fuck.

Where do I get the motivation to lose 1.5 stone? How do you all stay motivated to say 'no' to all the the nice food and meals and puddings? I expect to get nicely toasted for being lazy and weak willed except I do keep very active (but certainly eat too much).

Go ahead - flame me.

Ah...I'm chubby...I need to lose some stones..I struggle to not drink copious amounts of wineWink

I am back - been very busy with everything today. Thank you everyone. I feel like I have more motivation already and have had a good day (food wise). I will definitely re read the thread tomorrow and the next day and any time I feel like a binge because it puts everything into perspective and that is exactly what I need.

More activity less binge eating!

justcarrots29 You are not a failure as a human being and don't even have that much to lose.

There's nothing wrong with a little self pity and we all like to wallow and feel sorry for ourselves occasionally. The most important thing is that if you really do want to do something to shift the weight then you do so now you are feeling motivated.

Have you identified why you eat more than you need to? That's an important factor and I would say the other one is to write everything down that you eat even if it's a few bites as it does add up.

Thanks Morticia - I feel so much better knowing that actually I am not unusual - many many people are in similar positions and I am maybe projecting my feelings onto others.

I over eat when upset and stressed and I have had a very stressful few months. I will try to weather the storm and when things settle go for it!!! Just so that I can stop moaning if for nothing else Smile

I think to lose weight and keep it off you have to develop a taste for low calorie food. I've never been overweight, but I've never been of the good food bad food mentality or seen sugary fattening food as treats.
I prefer savoury food to sweet. I also dislike the stuffed feeling I get if I eat too much and feel at my sexiest when hungry. A bit of hunger sometimes is good for you.
Having said that I had a larger than usual meal of home made pie and turnip/swede with a glass of wine followed by gooseberry crumble and yoghurt as I made a rare pudding yesterday to use up some of the fruit in the freezer.
Find healthy food you like and a sport you enjoy so you don't feel like a masochist when you eat less calories and exercise more. Hobbies are good for keeping you so busy you forget about food as well.
I'm not skinny, size 14ish but have never been on a diet. "Delicious things" don't have to clog up your arteries.

I've not met a single person who's actually happy with their body. Fat or thin - it's more important to feel good. Don't flame yourself for snacking, it happens. And if it's just 1.5 stone to lose, you're not that bad at all.

People do seem to have a real thing against fat people. I see it a lot. People think they can say it to me because I'm slim, but it makes me scared of ever getting fat!

It's not just the morbidly obese either, it's people who are just a little bit chubby. Seems to be aimed more at women than men, which I'm sure is a feminist issue. I am a self-confessed chubby-chaser, though, and love DP's 'teddy bear tummy'. A six pack wouldn't be half as nice

Sue Grin My DH likes a bit of extra padding too luckily for me.
