What's on top of your fridge?

What colour is your hall painted? Or is it papered?

What about your DC rooms? How old are your DC and what style is their room?

How about YOUR bedroom? Your sitting room?

Me.

On top of my fridge is a collection of random crap including 2 "grow your own crystal" sets an od biscuit tin and a milk jug full of pennies...plus various detrius.

Hall walls are filthy a sort of cream colour.

Kids bedrooms stomach churning pink...one with hearts everywhere and the other slightly less offensive flowers.

Our bedroom is white and blue...boring.

Sitting room is kind of "Ikea meets Bernard Manning"....pared down and yet deeply ugly in all ways.

Fridge top holds big box of diet cokes, boxes of cereal and a bottle of bleach.

Hall, such as it is is painted a very pale coffee colour.

DD has two rooms, she sleeps in neither! Her bedroom is pink pink pink. She is 3.0yo. Her other room is her unused baby room which is Next Ollie and Molly design so beigey cream and totally brand new. Little bugger. I'm still hoping for dc2 so I don't want to turn it back into a spare box room.

Our bedroom is stone coloured walls, wooden floors, brown and cream bedding.

Living room is wooden floors, pale walls with a feature wall of brown and teal flowers. Brown leather sofas. I love it and don't give two tosses if it's naff or passé. So ner!

the top of the fridge is where the horrendous double deep fat fryer my DH bought lives - though now it is on the worktop as yesterday he deep fried some chicken wings Confused - the pasta also lives there with some old plastic boxes.

Our hall is green and cream and very small.

DS sleeps with us as he's only six weeks but 'his' room is painted cream and full of stuff including a shelving unit filled with vinyl and books (mine), an ikea sofabed (DH sleeps there at the moment), a changing unit (never been used) and my PC ehich is hardly ever used these days.

Our bedroom is cream with one red wall, a HUGE TV (DH's idea) and too much furniture. We have a crib and a table too, for changing the baby. There are clothes everywhere.

Sitting room is cream and cluttered. We have an open fire and a couple of bookcases, another huge tv, lots of baby stuff and a big sofa. Bare floorboards.

The only interesting one is the sitting room.

Mainly cream. A few walls with huge huge circles made of a sort of glittery sand paper. My Mother in Law's crazy 60's curtains in shocking pink finish the look. Furniture is a mixture of 50s/60s bargains, a bit of Habitat and a cosy blue sofa. Lovely art deco mirror (thank you, health in pregnancy grant).

The whole thing is then completely spoiled by the new TV, which is on a bench surrounded by coffee tables to stop the baby smearing it with marmalade.

I quite like it but isn't finished and we will probably move before it is.

cheechee · 06/02/2011 00:25

bugger duplicate post,sorry Blush

MrsVictorUbogu · 06/02/2011 02:01

Top of the fridge - it's a double American style so roomy Wink wine rack, spirits, 1/2 bag of party poppers, iron.

Hall - cream wallpaper with small gold design, yellow curtain, natural wood banister and oatmeal carpet.

kids rooms -

DD1 11 & DD2 8 - pale lilac wallpaper with mauve glitter butterfly design. Pink butterfly duvet sets, butterfly rugs, 1 pink, 1 purple, oatmeal carpet.

DS 7 - tiny room, so 1 wall red, rest white, two red, white and black pirate flags hanging on walls, red, white and black skull and cross bones duvet set, matching rug and border, oatmeal carpet.

My room (last to be decorated so vile atm) - revolting blue carpet, two kinds of hideous floral wallpaper in pink and blue, a non-matching border, yellow curtains. Will soon be beautiful chartreuse and purple, with purple accessories.

Living room - 3 pale coffee walls and curtains, fireplace wall brick red with huge gold framed mirror, brick red settee and arm chair, brick red rug, beech coffee table, wall mounted tv for more space.

Kitchen (my favourite room) - bright purple walls and blinds (large windows either end) white glossy cupboards, black marble work surface and breakfast bar, silver and black stools, stainless steel range cooker and cooker hood, purple kitchen implements/tea towels/cutlery/crockery as far as possible!

goingmadinthecountry · 06/02/2011 02:18

On top of fridge - microwave,

Hall is cream though it had a better name on the tin.

Kids have feature walls - dd1 has a hanging from Camden over a feature green wall. Rest are white with purple curtains.

Dd2 feature purlpe wall. Rest white.

Dd3 - pickle in pink.

Ds - brown with futon and minimalist apar from all the crap. There's lots of crap.

The rest is boring tastefully subtle.

Is it really bad that I misread the OP as having a milk jug full of penises instead of pennies? Blush

What's on top of your fridge? A crock pot and a tin full of funsize chocolate bars.

What colour is your hall painted? It isn't. It is badly in need of decoration.

What about your DC rooms? One very tidy. One very messy.

How old are your DC and what style is their room? No style just plain with posters up.

How about YOUR bedroom? Full of stuff with cream walls and red accessories.

Your sitting room? Also full of stuff and cream with a red wall where the fireplace is and a neutral carpet.

ben5 · 06/02/2011 12:57

top of fridge bread bin
hall magnolia
boys bedrooms 7 and 5 blue
my bedroom bright orange, yellow and purple

our house was a rainbow of awful colours that were painted badly so we are slowly getting around to painting. our bedroom is next on list!

our bathroom is the best, lime green, yellow, blue and orange. ds1(7) friend said if she was sick in our bathroom no one would notice!!

but our house was cheap and we love it esp as we are getting to paint and add value to the house!

HaggisHunter · 06/02/2011 13:01

On top of the fridge are recipe books, slow cooker and food processor.

Hall is cream with the aquarium of tropical fish at bottom of the stairs.

Kids rooms are cream, one blue carpet one with a charcoal carpet.

Our room is cream with brown carpet.

Living room cream with brown leather sofas, brown carpet and brown curtains.

We live in a new build and have to wait 12 months before decorating until house settles.

ZZZenAgain · 06/02/2011 13:03

top of fridge - nothing except possibly dust but I'm not checking

walls are all white, floors are all wood, honey-coloured

Ddd's bedroom - no particular style, theme. Curtains are yellow and furniture is wood painted white (bed) otherwise just wood. Struggle is to keep this room tidy. Ha!

Our bedroom has a Chinese carpet in green - as in a giant rug on the wood. Otherwise furniture is wood with black - sort of Japanese looking, otherwise just wooden bits and bobs. No overall theme/plan to it

Hall white walls, toom any lamps for some reason and hockey sticks, basketball lying about todayfor some reason
