Settle down everyone and prepare to be ranted at .....

The TV programme "A Farmers Life for Me" that was on last night....
I tuned in 'cos it was supposedly about smallholdings, something we're interested in, keeping pigs etc in a (very) small way ourselves.
But what did I find? It is a competition (of course!) to win a smallholding for a year, with people being voted off weekly (surprise, that!) and being set mindless and illogical tasks that are nothing to do with what you might do if you were really starting up a smallholding.
The programme has the sweaty paws of some mindless BBC Oxbridge graduate fast stream media whore stamped all over it, who has decided that the BBC2 audience both enjoys things like The Apprentice but also is into feelgood things that are "country" and organic - so what a winner it would be to get people to show "teamwork" to demonstrate how they are "going to make money" from their bit of land.

As for the couple whose plan was to create "serviced" allotments, where punters pay some vast sum to have an allotment run for them, so that they don't have to do any gardening or work, but can just turn up and pick themselves a few herbs on the odd sunny evening, while congratulating themselves on being "farmers",
GRRRRRR GRRRR!! . God it is infuriating ...
And breathe ... Oh, that felt good. Get me "Edwardian Farm" on iPlayer, someone, quick...
