I'm guilty of that Hoity.

fedupworking · 03/02/2011 20:33

My manager, he makes me feel sick every time I look at him or hear his voice

Dad2HandC · 03/02/2011 20:37

People who have knee-jerk "I hate all {insert your hated political party}" reactions.
Support for any party isn't a caste or a creed it's a preference. Voting for a party means that, on balance, you support their aims more than other parties.
That said - hating all politicians is quite acceptable. Never trust anyone who wants power.

And people who use phones in the quiet carriage - why??

lololizzy · 03/02/2011 20:38

There is a notice on a wall at my local university, that includes the word 'recomend'. This annoys me every time! It's a university!!!!

LadyOfTheManor · 03/02/2011 20:38

WHy should one hate them or why do I (we) do it?

lololizzy · 03/02/2011 20:41

Fashion magazines have articles including 'think' as in for eg.- 'think 1980s Madonna' 'think hippie chic with a modern boho twist' 'think naturally dishevelled hair as if you'd just come off the beach'
arrrghhhh!

Nell799 · 03/02/2011 20:42

judgmental people

people who lack empathy

people who are incapable of understanding another view point

people who think they are entitled to something they haven't worked for .

PigValentine · 03/02/2011 20:43

Nick Hurd MP

Dad2HandC · 03/02/2011 20:44

LadyOfTheManor - rules are made to be observed by everyone. Except for me of course unless I want to Wink

LadyOfTheManor · 03/02/2011 20:47

Well I sit in there away from screaming children. Then I usually have to use the phone. I rarely rarely use trains so I don't tend to pose that much of a problem I like to think.

Why do you people need so much peace? To watch the passing fields?

mamarara · 03/02/2011 20:50
  • People who don't follow basic rules of politeness in swimming pool lanes.
  • People who cut in the queue for the bus even though I have been waiting for ages. They then get a seat whilst I have to stand.
  • Rape and the sexual intimidation of women
  • All reality tv
  • All soap operas
  • Celebrity culture
  • Society trying to force me to dress my dd in head to toe pink and play only with pink toys
  • People telling me my miscarriages were probably for the best
  • The fact dd's nursery never remember to give me back her bottle, lose every hairclip I put in her hair, give me the wrong clothes and still cost me an arm and a leg
  • Robert Mugabe
  • DH leaving the fridge door open every time he uses the fridge
  • The ridiculous inequality of wealth

Blimey. Stopping now.

Dad2HandC · 03/02/2011 20:52

LadyOfTheManor my comments applied to commuter trains. Commuters should know better. If you are quiet on the phone then fine. If you (or I Grin) use headphones that don't allow sound to escape then fine.

alemci · 03/02/2011 20:53

Pig Valentine. what has he done. He is our MP?

LadyOfTheManor · 03/02/2011 20:55

Yes, commuter trains do not exist where I live now

PigValentine · 03/02/2011 21:00

He's the minister for civil society (which used to be called the office of the Third Sector - ie charities and voluntary organisations) and is part of the Big Society bullshit machine, which is going to see charities pushed into bidding for statutory contracts, which then make them vulnerable and also potentially move away from their original aims and objectives (amongst MANY other things)

Also he voted in favour of privatising Forestry commission land and putting the future of 18% of our woodlands at risk.

I've been to a few Westminster briefings / Charity conferences where he is supposed to be talking about how the Big Society is going to work, and he's never turned up.

MoChan · 03/02/2011 21:07

Ah, those two as well, thanks mamarara, for reminding me.

  • Rape and the sexual intimidation of women
  • Society trying to force me to dress my dd in head to toe pink and play only with pink toys
PlanetEarth · 03/02/2011 21:13

mamarara, that was a really random list Grin! Anything else you'd like to get off your chest?

alemci · 03/02/2011 21:14

Goofymum · 03/02/2011 21:43

-Judgemental people
-People who make me feel guilty for buying fruitshoots even though I could SO critise their parenting skills but prefer not to judge cos its none of my business[defensive face]
-Thoughtless neighbours who fill recycling bags with food waste and dog poo and then wonder why the bin men don't take it but don't bother clearing it up themselves.
-people who thank their wonderful husbands on facebook for looking after their kids, I mean what's that all about FFS

  • self important people
  • people who don't listen.
mamarara · 03/02/2011 22:05

For you MoChan www.pinkstinks.co.uk

Once I got started Planet Earth I found a well of repressed anger and annoyance! I could go on:

  • People who use the word 'myriad' incorrectly.
  • Pedants.
  • Employers who view women returning from maternity as brainless second class citizens.
  • My dog for humping every other dog he encounters and ensuring the daily walk is fraught with embarrassment.
  • The 'unexpected item in bagging area' message at the supermarket self check out.
  • When dads are made to feel like incompetent parents in public (often seems to be by older women who think it is funny)
  • My bank for forgetting to send out my direct debits and then charging me outrageous fees when I go 36p overdrawn.
  • The acceptance of honour killing and female circumcision
  • Uncomfortable shoes
MoChan · 03/02/2011 23:22

I'm well aware of it, thanks.

MoChan · 03/02/2011 23:26

Sorry, that looks churlish. I meant, I know about their campaign, follow it, and have attempted my own campaigns in the past...

It's a VERY BIG issue for me, in fact. Possibly makes my blood boil more than anything else at the moment, despite the fact that I should probably care more about other, possibly more pressing issues. Like children dying, rather than just being over-exposed to pink/being brainwashed.
