I was in a shop recently waiting to be served and the woman at the counter in front of me was blocking the shop assistant's access to behind the counter. She smiled to the shop assistant as she let her past and said "My bad!". I think I visibly cringed.

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2011 14:19

I wouldn't even know what she meant by that. Grin

ashamedandconfused · 27/01/2011 14:19

my DBs GF says this - its regional slang where they live,Brum, but it makes me cringe, bleurgh!

Changing2011 · 27/01/2011 14:19

"sexy" to a baby. Just yuck.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 27/01/2011 14:19

anything in a cringy baby voice.

I want to slap them until they bleed.

One day I might.

No jury would convict me...

fedupofnamechanging · 27/01/2011 14:20

'awesome' should be reserved for teenagers - and Americans!

deepheat · 27/01/2011 14:20

Afraid my bugbear's a classic. The constant insertion of 'like' into pretty much every sentence when there is no grammatical reason for it and it is not being used to convey any additional sense of meaning.

renlovesyou · 27/01/2011 14:21

I do lots of these Im afraid.

I call my friends 'man', everything is 'epic'and we have nicknames for everyone we know (badger muff, giraffe girl etc)

Blush
Changing2011 · 27/01/2011 14:21

"epic fail"

epic moron.

fedupofnamechanging · 27/01/2011 14:22

'Dude' is another word I hate to hear coming out of an adults mouth

Hassled · 27/01/2011 14:22

Widdle or piddle, unless to a small child. Or maybe even if to a small child.

stripeywoollenhat · 27/01/2011 14:23

deepheat, the insertion of 'like' is, i think, permissible for people with cork accents. otherwise, yes, planks only.

crisptart · 27/01/2011 14:23

lol at changing Smile I agree, no adult should say 'epic fail' unless they're going for the moron of the year award. Grin

sayitwithme · 27/01/2011 14:23

ROFL at Hecate! I'll be right behind you in the queue.

waitwhat · 27/01/2011 14:24

I rang my local midwife to cancel our app as i had given birth,

said she: wow that's super fabby fantastic!! grats!!!

Call me unreasonable but i can never take her seriously again!

Changing2011 · 27/01/2011 14:24

Oh god Waitwhat bet you were so glad you could miss that appointment!

RatherBe · 27/01/2011 14:25

'School night' when they mean that they have work the next day.

waitwhat · 27/01/2011 14:25

Also a 55 year old man at work says 'thats sick' when he likes something

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2011 14:25

My DD (aged 14) tells me off for saying random. She says only kids her age should say that.

Changing2011 · 27/01/2011 14:26

My 14 year old brother doesnt even say "thats sick" anymore. My little brothers are my slang barometers.

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2011 14:26

Oh yes and chillax. I'm not allowed to say that.

DuplicitousBitch · 27/01/2011 14:26

talking about no. of 'sleeps' until something

Changing2011 · 27/01/2011 14:26

Oh I hate random, its up there with Epic Fail.

sayitwithme · 27/01/2011 14:26

ROFL at waitwhat too!! For some reason, I have a picture of Emma Thompson in my head when I read those words...

This thread just might be the tonic I need. Grin

DuplicitousBitch · 27/01/2011 14:27

bestmamaderwelt · 27/01/2011 14:27
