I was in a shop recently waiting to be served and the woman at the counter in front of me was blocking the shop assistant's access to behind the counter. She smiled to the shop assistant as she let her past and said "My bad!". I think I visibly cringed.

I will admit to saying awesome OB occasion. Blush

'Literally'. "I literally just died." Well, I hate to state the obvious but you didn't die, did you. If you had have done I would have been saved this irritation.

"Random"

GinSlinger · 27/01/2011 14:27

date night even if you're American

DuplicitousBitch · 27/01/2011 14:27

basically anything that comes out of paris hiltons mouth is wrong

NinkyNonker · 27/01/2011 14:28

Oh, and yes yes to chillax. Either chilled or relaxed is enough of a description.

OTTMummA · 27/01/2011 14:28

swear down, I heard a customer say that who was most definately over 40, I had to check it wasn't Tim westwood.

TotemPole · 27/01/2011 14:28

PMSL!!

BornToFolk · 27/01/2011 14:28

"going to the little girl's room" instead of going to the loo. I used to work with someone who said this all the time.

Changing2011 · 27/01/2011 14:29

"methinks"

commonly used on Facebook.

Time for a bath methinks.
Time for Eastenders methinks.

GAAAAAAAH.

Bairyheaver · 27/01/2011 14:30

'big time' yuck!

FranSanDisco · 27/01/2011 14:32

I say cool - it's wrong on so many levels I guess Blush Grin.

OTheHugeManatee · 27/01/2011 14:32

'Chillax' makes my ears bleed.

I hate it as well when anyone 'pops' anything onto, under or into anything, or asks me to 'pop' myself or any other object onto, under or into anything else.

sayitwithme · 27/01/2011 14:33

I nearly died when DD (not even 3 yet) came into the kitchen and, completely unprovoked, said "you're doing my head in"...

Mental note to self: Must watch what I say in front of DD...

TotemPole · 27/01/2011 14:33

Do people really announce on Facebook that they're going for a bath?Confused

'School night' when they mean that they have work the next day."
oooh yes, unless you work in a school of course. First heard teacher friends saying it, and thought little of it, other than they didn't call it "work". But now it's in general use Angry

Same people talk about number of "sleeps" until an event, Christmas or whatever.

Also hate "lickle" and "bockle" instead of little and bottle.

Mists · 27/01/2011 14:36

Oh shite, should have read the thread, sorry, will report!

StealthPolarBroccoli · 27/01/2011 14:36

mists, who has said that? Shock

waitwhat · 27/01/2011 14:36

lol sayitwithme
My nearly 3yr old niece walked in on her parents arguing over dinner and said " jog on you lot no one cares"

One of my fathers sayings

Changing2011 · 27/01/2011 14:37

They do on mine. Time for a cull. Methinks.

Ohforfoxsake · 27/01/2011 14:37

I'm not being funny, but.....

sayitwithme · 27/01/2011 14:37

Ha ha ha ha ha [ROFL again]!! That tickled me waitwhat!

chinam · 27/01/2011 14:38

I love chillax and counting the number of sleeps for things. In fact I have two more sleeps until I go away for a long week end.Grin

RatherBe · 27/01/2011 14:38

And 'in the bedroom department'. Of where? John Lewis?

thumbdabwitch · 27/01/2011 14:38

Mists that is Shock

Agree with most here but need to add that "awesome" is in general use in Australia as well, not just America. I tend not to use it though.

Totem - some people on FB tell you when they're going to the loo, or scratching their nose. I think it's called "over-sharing" Grin

purpleandpink · 27/01/2011 14:38

Blush Blush Blush

I use some of these!! Blush
I say "school night" and "awesome" and "no. of sleeps" Grin

But I have some pet hates of my own which include "hoorah" as it makes me think the person has just stepped out of an Enid Blyton Book, calling their other half "Dad" especially when it's not even in front of their kids and using the greeting "watcha".

AND, although this is not things being spoken, I HATE to see 40 something men with twisty hairstyles and cropped cargo pants.....
