To tell dh to shut up about Nick Knowles!

Dh popped out at 4, ds (11) and I were watching diy SOS at 8 and enjoying it! Dh came back at 8:30 and saw what we were watching and started moaning about Nick Knowles, saying he was arrogant, a twat etc... I told him we were enjoying the programme and didn't watch it for nick but dh kept moaning and asked if we could turn over to watch the NTA on itv... Ds went up to watch the end of diy SOS in his room and I set the sky to record it -then turned over, dh sat down and we wAtched the NTA, I found it dull so went up for a bath at 9... Ds went to sleep at 9 too..

Anyway, came back down and asked if much had happened, apparently not... Noticed on twitter that lily Allen had stopped watching it and was watching Diy SOS! Mentioned it to dh who launched into another rant about nick Knowles! I told him to shut up going on as I was fed up and reiterated that I liked the concept of the show! Dh said I was picking nick Knowles over him and has stormed off to bed!

Aibu to have told dh to shut up??

Understand your dh's pain re Nick Knowles, although his suggestion to turn over and watch NTA means he's lost any support from me, therefore YANBU

The thing that puts me off Nick Knowles is the frequent crotch shots that the DIY SOS cameraman seemed very keen on. The sight of bulging denim at teatime is really offputting.

Saw Nick Knowles at borough market few months back with a very young blonde. He looked like average middle aged grump, she didn't look that loved up either.deeply disappointing!

I agree he is a right prat on the show and have no idea what he is like in real life but I don't watch the programme for him... I actually like the concept!

Dh must have ranted about him for 10-15 mins! And to say I choose him over dh or am 'defending' him against dh is ridiculous! I suggested he was protesting a bit too much and perhaps he has a gay crush on him... Grin didn't go down well!

Builder blokey (Billy?) comes from my town.
Now HE'S the arse. So arrogant and up himself.

Nick comes across as quite pleasant on the odd occasion he has been seen here.

DH knows better than to interrupt DIY SOS when I'm watching it.

Missed the first 15 minutes, what accident had her son had? We like Nick on tv but I always think that Chris (plasterer with blond hair) looks like he stinks of fags!?!?!

Brain damage from a rugby game, had been away from home for a year.... Was looking like a good programme! Will watch the 2nd half in the morning!

NTA = national television awards, very dull!

I think my husband has a little crush on Nick Knowles. In the only way a straight man can, he doesn't really want to shag him, he ust sort of wants to BE him, but gets all smily and giggly when he comes on the TV

I find it difficult to take him seriously as a DIY builder bloke with stubble and paint on his fleece top when I can change channel and he is scrubbed up suited and booted gameshoe host. It actually bothers me quite a lot. He could be sitting on an upturnes buckey drinking a mug of tea with 'the lads' and internally I'm shouting 'Fraud! Fraud!'. I need to get out more!

Udderly - I wont have any of that kind of talk. DH likes to point out that NK is a prancy TV presenter, probably went to drama school and the muck on his clothes is probably added by researchers whilst he's sipping peppermint tea.

I don't like gameshow host NK as much as I-can skim-the-bathroom-walls-and-put-up-a-stud-wall NK.

I agree OP - your husband behaved like a right brat.

tatty - my DH also has a little crush on all of them in that show. He is a builder and he loves all these type of programs. (I do not understand it as I have no desire to watch shows about bookeeping). If he can't get a DIYSOS fix then he makes do with the fella on the Melinda Messigner one as he is apparently a very good builder Confused.

It would make his life complete if DIYSOS came to do a show in our town and he could go and "pitch in" with the "lads".

Is Billy really horrible? That does upset me!
