Christ on a bike but this is getting right on my tits now - give your threads a proper title rather than "Shall I kick........."

I'm getting fed up of opening threads only to find it about some bollicky subject I've got no interest in or no experience to offer advice!

AIBU?

Brilliant :)

mistressploppy · 26/01/2011 20:51

YABU - how else can we reel you in to read drivel?

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 26/01/2011 20:53

Agree Doodlez...on prinicple I always tell the ones who do it that, yes, they are BU Grin

beachholiday · 26/01/2011 20:55

Im with you. AIBU to tell her...raises my expectations. Then the rest of the title lowers them again. If someone comes up with a clever title to do that way, then its fun. A lot of the time now its just done when the thread is about nothing much.

IMO if people find themselves starting titles like on that on a regular basis just to get someone to look then they may want to ask themselves whether the thread is worth starting in the first place...

Doodlez · 26/01/2011 20:56

Thank Gawd - was beginning to wonder if it was just me it was irritating!

fgs find something else to get riled about life is too short

Shewhoshallnotbenamed · 26/01/2011 20:58

Brilliant, I've just read down the list to see which to dip my toe of intrigue into......I had the exact same thoughts! I like to know what I'm letting myself in for! Fun/Despair/serious/rudeness/sadness - I need to know people before I commit to reading your post!

YANBU! Grin

Doodlez · 26/01/2011 20:58

Southeastastra!!!! Yes, I know.....I need to get a grip but it's been making my teeth itch for ages! Not seen you around for aaaaggggeeeessss!

ha are you being sarcastic? i'm always here

nice chickens? we all went ahhhhh

it's that moment a chick turns in a chicken and you hardly see picturs of that stage

Doodlez · 26/01/2011 21:07

No, sorry, not sarcastic - I just haven't spotted your name for a while - clearly we're hanging about on different threads! You were one of the names I grew up with on MN - you don't know me at all! BlushGrin

Me chickens are Silkies - they still look all fluffy like that now! Buggers for going broddy though!

southeastastra · 26/01/2011 21:17

Grin they're really sweet!

SilveryMoon · 26/01/2011 21:19

yanbu

SixtyFootDoll · 26/01/2011 21:20

YANBU it is annoying esp when the rest of the thread is complete garbage

tethersend · 26/01/2011 21:22

You are being.....

tethersend · 26/01/2011 21:22

...Unreasonable

pinksmarties · 26/01/2011 21:26

I agree

missismonky · 26/01/2011 21:31

Yanbu. I also like your chickens and I'm usually a bit freaked by chickens, so they must be especially nice. Smile

Doodlez · 26/01/2011 21:38

Tether - I was thinking as I wrote the OP that some bugger would come along and do that!

The chickens are very cute - I think it might be to do with their nice brown eyes - most regular chickens have red/orange eyes which can look a bit evil!

OP posts:
tethersend · 26/01/2011 21:42

I am that bugger Grin

Doodlez · 26/01/2011 21:43

Guilty as charged, I will cease to annoy with my half titles from now on ;)

NestaFiesta · 26/01/2011 22:47

YANBU. I usually only have 5-10 mins to Mumsnet at a time before the kids spot that I am sitting down and I want it to be a good read. So sick of "AIBU or are they?" and "AIBU to..." Aaargh!

Doodlez · 26/01/2011 23:03

Thank you MM!

Nesta - that's me too - just a few minutes before "MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM - can I have.....!" So I need titles to be snappy and to the point - or even long but still to the point!

YANBU

So glad it's not just me getting annoyed by that.

DitaVonCheese · 26/01/2011 23:49

YANBU. This is a constant internet bugbear of mine. Don't read them on principle. They fuck me the fuck off Grin
