Why does he have all the ridiculous fillers with the crap about BBC content/non content, web cams etc in the stupid voices?

Why is his show popular, I really must be missing something in my psyche as it makes me switch off every time he comes on.

Yep, just switched to Radio 3. Can't stand him - especially when he sings over the songs. And he seems quite thick too.

Totally agree. Utterly dated, self-congratulatory crap. I leave work just before he finishes, and always have to switch over or risk a crash from irritation.

He is dreadful. He makes such a big fuss about his radio show. I remember a few years back when Mark Radcliffe (or was it Stuart Maconie?) stood in for Steve and opened the show by saying 'its not rocket science' and then treated us to a few hours of good music and reasonable company.

Really, really can't bear him. Can't bear Radio 1 in any way, shape or form either. I'm not that fond of Radio 4 drama or the Archers. Not the easiest of radio customers me.

He is such a nob. I hate it when he spoils my enjoyment of the records by singing over them. I hate the way he says things like "interweb" and "pictures-queue" (for picturesque).

I love it when Radcliffe stands in. The Radcliffe and Maconie show are the best thing about radio 2 and 'they', the controllers, took an evening slot off them. Madness!! ( At least there's always the iPlayer to listen again!)
