To enjoy spending the day in PJs

and to let my DCs stay in PJs on Sundays if we are not going out?

Following on from a thread in parenting where people are disgraced that a Dad doesn't get the children dressed into "day" clothes at the weekend even if staying at home.

Well...I don't like being in the same clothes I slept in. It feels gross to me so after a bit of a laze around on weekends, I make the kids get changed when I do.

But YANBU if you don't mind sweaty pits.

Meglet · 24/01/2011 13:06

yanbu. If they are cosy and not going anywhere then what's the problem.

reinitindear · 24/01/2011 13:06

yanbu we love a pj day in our house.Shower and clean pj's after dinner though.

idobelieveinfairies · 24/01/2011 13:10

We have pyjama days if we are staying in (when its poring outside, someone is ill).

DC and i do have showers/baths and put on clean pyjamas for the next night though!

So no YANBU.

COCKadoodledooo · 24/01/2011 13:17

YANBU! Also love pyjama days here, but as idobelieveinfairies says, bath and clean ones before bed - to do otherwise is minging!

frenchfancy · 24/01/2011 17:19

I don't actually wear PJs in bed, I put them on when I get up until I am awake enough to get dressed properly, so they are effectively "clean clothes"

That's what I would do too frenchfancy. PJ days are fab. Rare occassional treats to be made the most of.

KatieScarlett2833 · 24/01/2011 17:26

mmmmmm PJ day, we call that Sunday in our house. Smile

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 24/01/2011 17:26

I always think peoples basic arithmetic leaves something to be desired on threads like these.

If I go to work then I'm in my work clothes from 7am til possibly 11pm - so that's 16 hours in the same clothes.

So on a weekend the numbers are surely the same- pjs on at 11pm - think about getting dressed 2pm the next day. Sounds like a nice lazy Sunday to me.

It's the SAME providing your wearing clean pjs or clothes every day.

TheMonster · 24/01/2011 17:28

YANBU. I stayed in my PJs yesterday.

MoonGirl1981 · 24/01/2011 17:28

Yup. Every Saturday we have a pajama day. I work Saturday nights so that's our day for snuggling up on the sofas and watching films.

Deaddei · 24/01/2011 17:39

I Feel ill if I wear pjs all day.

cumbria81 · 24/01/2011 17:47

I can't believe you would have a day where you don't even leave the house! I am shocked.

KatieScarlett2833 · 24/01/2011 18:10

Believe it. I like my house.

WimpleOfTheBallet · 24/01/2011 18:17

I have plenty cumbria!

compo · 24/01/2011 18:18

I didn't leave the house fri sat and sun last week Grin

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 24/01/2011 18:21

I work from home mostly and sometimes don't leave the house for a whole week.

CrapBag · 24/01/2011 19:31

YADNBU!!!

My favourite way to spend a day sometimes.

Squitten · 24/01/2011 19:39

YANBU! Love PJ days. Got very used to them when I was heavily pregnant this time around because they were so comfy and easy to waddle round after my toddler in.

Don't see the point of dirtying outdoor clothes if I'm not going out. And I also have days where I don't leave the house...

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 24/01/2011 19:46

I don't understand people who have to go out of their house every day?!

There's nothing wrong with a PJ Day once in a while.

Well, there's nothing wrong with them every weekend if you want them - but it's just not something I'd want that often.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 24/01/2011 19:48

Love the odd double pyjama day. Showered and changed into clean PJs. Mint!

fedupofnamechanging · 24/01/2011 19:54

Love pyjama days too. And I often don't go out on a Sunday!

TheMonster · 24/01/2011 22:15

I love them too, KennDodd! We have so much in common. Not that I am calling you common...

LadyFannyofBumStreet · 24/01/2011 22:48

YANBU - Nothing beats slipping into a onsie after a hot shower and spending the whole day indoors Grin

LadyFannyofBumStreet · 24/01/2011 22:49

oops. That should spell onesie
