To be jealous of women who always look immaculate!

Some women just look great all the time! My friend is gorgeous; lovely hair, nice figure, always well dressed, and generally looks very groomed even though she says she doesn't actually spend that much time/money on herself. Her house is always tidy and clean and even her kids look like they've stepped straight out of the Next directory.

I'm very jealous of women like this! Just what IS the secret? I need to know, my friend says there isn't one... Smile

The ones I know have one child, two tops with a 5 year gap maybe that's the secrete.

WherecanIhide · 21/01/2011 22:42

YANBU - I'm jealous too!

First off these women probably have good genes/looks on their side so that makes things easier.

Maybe they naturaly have good taste - so always look fab

I'dd love to be like your friend.

BootyMum · 21/01/2011 22:43

Paid help? Beautician appointments? Personal shopper? Fab hairdresser?

DirtyMartini · 21/01/2011 22:46

Time management
Money
Determination/motivation (as in caring about well-presented kids, self and home enough that you are rarely tempted to let things slide and slob about on MN all day)

prettymuchapixiegirl · 21/01/2011 22:48

Lol DirtyMartini, I think your 3rd point is where I'm going wrong each day, hence I end up on the school run with frizzy hair, mascara under my eyes and very creased clothes.

I know someone like this. She is like a cross between Bonsoir and Xenia - works ft as a prosecutor, looks great all the time, beautiful immaculate house, hip French husband, cute toddler. And she seems nice, too Shock

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/01/2011 22:50

my 'best' friend is like this (official title is best friend but she's not really that great of a friend)

but she has no kids and a husband that does as much or even more in the house than her. plus i think it is genetic with her as her mum and sister always look perfect aswell.

BradTittAndFlange · 21/01/2011 22:57

uanbu, I am envious also.

jesuswhatnext · 21/01/2011 23:00

im sorry, we just cant help it! Grin

DirtyMartini · 21/01/2011 23:00

If the whole family is like that it's actually a tiny bit spooky.

They probably go round to their mum's on the eve of the full moon and cook up a batch of frogspawn and toadstool potion, sacrifice a goat and wash in its blood etc, then bob's your uncle ... the Immaculate Looks spell is cast till next moon.

DirtyMartini · 21/01/2011 23:02

That was to Boo, btw

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/01/2011 23:04

is it spooky?? i just thought the girls had copied their mum!

mutznutz · 21/01/2011 23:04

I think it's all down to genetics and good taste really.

Some people are born that way...some people need to make a little extra effort and some simply don't look good no matter what they do to improve themselves.

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 21/01/2011 23:04

Me too!
I do spend quite a bit of time trying to look my best Blush but I always look scruffy and not-quite-right Confused

bubblewrapped · 21/01/2011 23:05

hmmmm .. I would imagine most of them are high maintenance and a nightmare to live with beneath all that Estee Lauder..

jesuswhatnext · 21/01/2011 23:06

see bubble, thats where you are going wrong, estee lauder dosent even touch the sides when it comes to being 'high maintenance'! Grin

cheesesarnie · 21/01/2011 23:06

every now and then i have a week or so where i make the effort.then i forget!Grin

mutznutz · 21/01/2011 23:07

I think people are just people. I don't judge a book by its cover cos I know lots of pretty women who are fantastic people...equally I know a few how are nightmares...same as the not so pretty/immaculate people I know.

mutznutz · 21/01/2011 23:08

If you re-arrange the letters in 'how' it makes 'who'...I swear Blush

DirtyMartini · 21/01/2011 23:09

Spooky, def. Whole families of immaculate people can only mean a supernatural explanation.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/01/2011 23:12

i think you're right martini. i am going to contact the council, try and get a withc burning stake erected.
