Nicholas Hoult is becoming a very handsome young man.

CheerfulYank · 13/02/2011 21:52

Yes yes! One of my friends was just posting about him on Facebook. :)

I can't watch the baftas, which makes me incredibly :(

Jins · 14/02/2011 09:06

My apologies for my indiscretion ladies. I think I must have misheard something somewhere along the line.

MadameDefarge · 14/02/2011 14:30

I think you mean Colonials, Cheerful, Colonials, not Americans...

Pass the flask over again. I've just found a course with places for next month and they told me to apply. They are taking my current published research project as recent study Shock

If I get in I can't work my notice period, it's so far away that all my bursary will be spent on travel and I'm not really mentally 'ready'. So I'll get in for sure won't I?

minimammoth · 14/02/2011 17:58

EEk Jins. It all happens at once. Do they happen often? Might there be another when the time and travel are easier.
snatches at flask, medicinal purposes only.

Jins · 14/02/2011 18:07

Everywhere local is full until sept 2012 and if I do the access course then I won't be able to apply until 2013.

I'm going to apply anyway. I can decide if I get a place

CheerfulYank · 14/02/2011 18:23

Just jump in and go with it, Jinsy! You can dooooo it!

I went to a lecture on dark matter and dark density last night.

I feel all brainy.

And humiliated because DS came and giggled all the way through with his chums in that uncontrollable 13 yr old fashion.

Was it interesting Hully? I would be interested but lost after 10 mins I suspect.

Lovely to see you Ms Mary! You are looking well. I see you have a yak now! how quaint it must be to see you both pounding the streets with your wares. I should imagine you are quite the crowd pleaser.

minimammoth · 15/02/2011 10:11

Am impressed Hully, perhaps we should all board the 'Starship Enterprize' for an adventure.
Anyway, Am off now on my wee hol. Packing the trunk and emergency chocolate.
Au revoir

BeribbonedGibbon · 15/02/2011 10:17

Have a fab time mini! Smile

I LOVE Star Trek. Well not the original, nor the last, but the 3 in-between. Oh yes. I love them Blush

Hullygully · 15/02/2011 10:19

Have a great time Mini. Dance for all of us.

Hully- I am vair impressed with going to lectures of an evening (instead of watching Road Wars and quietly bickering, like me and dp)

Ms Mary sends her cordial regards, Gibbon. She is busy rabble rousing in the East End tidying up some loose ends in case we are to embark on another adventure...

I know this probably isn't the place, but I can't find anywhere that is the place, iykwim- can anyone tell me if Riven is still around? I do miss her

Sad
Hullygully · 15/02/2011 11:36

Riven has de-regged it seems. Hopefully, she will return when things are a little less exciting..

I am going to make a habit of lecture-going. I am relocating to Jane Austen land where one fills one days with civilised pursuits.

SpringHeeledJack · 15/02/2011 11:41

it made me think of Howard's End

and bluestockings

I wish she'd come back. I'm wondering how she's managing. Also, on a selfish level, I normally agree with her, and find that the older I get, the less likely I am to find people I agree with, rather than people who make me grind my teef...

Hullygully · 15/02/2011 11:47

I find that everyone is wrong unless they are agreeing with me.

Did you ever move to Ponge?

OP posts:
SpringHeeledJack · 15/02/2011 12:00

non to Ponge

les ecoles sont pauvre

we are now pondering West Norwood. Or West Bore/Snorewood, according to some

...and funny you should say that...it struck me at the weekend, while on a train journey undistracted by the musical chatter of the children, that, possibly, sometimes, I may actually be wrong- which is the first time in 45 years that has occurred to me

I hope it doesn't occur to me for another 45 years

Hullygully · 15/02/2011 12:07

It is startling isn't it?

I read a thng at the weekend which said the key to a successful r'ship was to understand that the other person believed the things they were saying to be true! Imagine.

OP posts:
CheerfulYank · 15/02/2011 17:04

Oh, people do talk some nonsense, don't they? DH being right...imagine! I hope he doesn't hear of this, it'll go right to his head. :)

Am also Envy of Hully's lecture...every so often I decide I must become the sort of person who Does Things. It never lasts long but maybe one of these days it will stick.

Hullygully · 15/02/2011 17:07

It will be my one Lecture of the Decade..especially I was so mired in shame.
