RiojaLover75 · 05/01/2011 22:15

Depends what you want Gemsy Grin

Deaddei · 05/01/2011 22:15

Yabu.
Was it a very small branch?
I plan to have my ashes scattered in Waitrose, preferably near the fresh fish counter.

Casseopeia · 05/01/2011 22:16

Great supermarket - but their meat is always off before the expiration date. And they sell meat that will expire the very next day! Appalling.

porcamiseria · 05/01/2011 22:17

NOOOOOO

it rocks. i actually feel happy when I go in there

its the only shop near me that sells naice things

Casseopeia · 05/01/2011 22:17

I had a rant at the manager in M&S food at Westfield recently. You know they sell pet food but nothing for babies? NOTHING?

TrillianAstra · 05/01/2011 22:18

I work near a very very small waitrose, but it has a much better variety of things I want than a similar sized tesco express or small co op.

gordyslovesheep · 05/01/2011 22:18

Noooooo

It is limited but it's also clean and fresh and sparkley and nice

I like it muchly

and it sells peanut puffs!

Casseopeia · 05/01/2011 22:18

porcamiseria - is it like Tiffany's? Breakfast at Waitrose?

Gemsy83 · 05/01/2011 22:19

I tend to think a lot of people like it because it costs more and makes them feel generally superior....I await a good old flaming but thats mho.

porcamiseria · 05/01/2011 22:19

and floral tea towels, and chrytallised ginger, and gourmet shit, i feel posh and rich just shopping there

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/01/2011 22:19

YABU - Waitrose is amazing.

The only thing they don't have a big range of is vile freezer/processed shite, thank goodness!

TrillianAstra · 05/01/2011 22:19

Yes, Waitrose is a tiny bit like Tiffany's, except you can actually buy breakfast foods there. :)

Hulababy · 05/01/2011 22:20

Limited in what way?

Our Waitrose appears to sell pretty much what you would expect any decent sized supermarket to sell. OK, it doesn't sell lots of clothes but then i don't need that from a supermarket personally. But for other supermarket needs it seems to be normal to me.

MackerelOfFact · 05/01/2011 22:20

They vary, they do tend to be slightly on the small side in general though.

porcamiseria · 05/01/2011 22:20

a bit, I live in a down at heel area. I am the only one that shops there in my yard, I am actually Obsessed WITH THAT BLOODY PLACE

LoveBeingADaddysGirl · 05/01/2011 22:20

YABU

gordyslovesheep · 05/01/2011 22:21

No I go because it sells peanut puffs

Thinkofanumber · 05/01/2011 22:32

My local Tesco sells peanut puffs. What are they like? Look like wotsits on the pack iirc.

gordyslovesheep · 05/01/2011 22:33

Ohhhhh No Thinkofanumber - really !!! wonderful

sadly I have no tesco near me :(

curlymama · 05/01/2011 22:36

The only thing wrong with Waitrose is that they do not sell milk chocolate chips. The only sell their own brand of chocolate chunks. Which are huge. And sometimes only a real chocolate chip will do.

Other than that, Waitrose rocks.

pooka · 05/01/2011 22:37
