EXP sent me some photos he took of our dcs on Xmas day, some in my house and some in his mum's house. in the ones in his mum's house his mum is wearing a very short sexy santa outfit with alot of cleavage on show, black fishnets and black knee high stiletto boots. i would have no problem with this if it was just her and her DH but this was with her children and grandchildren there for the day. i can't help thinking, tehre's a time and a place and Xmas dinner with the whole family isn't it.

But do you think they're going to need some counselling to get over it? Or they'll grow up to be pole dancers? What is your problem? I just don't get it.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 05/01/2011 19:52

charliesmommy, i didn't say i had a problem with her age, read my posts. i amswered to another posters question.

Somebody rip out my eyeballs and throw them in bleach, please.

All I can visualise now is my grandmother dressed as a sexy santa.
She was small and elderly.
Wrinkled.
Really very old.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 05/01/2011 19:55

Grin @ alistair and thank you for invoking an image of my 83 year old gran wearing similar!

OP posts:
friedtoacrisp · 05/01/2011 19:55

LOL Alistair - now that would have been questionable! Can't imagine my gran doing it either on account of her tits being somewhere around her ankles!

manicbmc · 05/01/2011 19:55

Well at least it was her and not her dh Grin

well you seem to think that a 41yr old wearing fashionable boots and showing cleavage is disgraceful behaviour...

I am just so glad you aint my DIL...

You would be outraged.... and incandescent with fury at the sight of my stiletto boots, halterneck tops, and anything else I wear because at 41 I really dont see myself as anywhere near old.

Being a grandparent doesnt mean you have to suddenly behave like a pensioner.

Goblinchild · 05/01/2011 19:56

She'd look more like a gnome, AlistairSim.
My gran would have dressed like a Barbara Cartland Christmas fairy given half a chance.
I really miss her.

Lulumaam · 05/01/2011 19:56

can you articulate why you think it is inappropriate and why it bothers you?

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 05/01/2011 19:57

"well you seem to think that a 41yr old wearing fashionable boots and showing cleavage is disgraceful behaviour... "

where did i say teh problem was that she was 41? i know you are huffing with me from the other thread but really it is bad form to carry it over onto otehr threads.

OP posts:
scurryfunge · 05/01/2011 19:59

I can't see the problem - sounds like a bit of fun at Christmas. At 43, I am not entirely past it yet. It is a bit of a clichéd outfit but that is all.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 05/01/2011 19:59

as i said lulu, i think it is the idea that her and her DH might be getting kicks out of it. don't intend this to be AIBU by stealth but he's a perv.

OP posts:
charliesmommy · 05/01/2011 19:59

I hadnt even noticed it was you.. I look at the post not the poster.

I am not huffing with you either dear...

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 05/01/2011 19:59

my problem is NOT her age. soemone else asked me her age. i don't see teh relevance of her age.

OP posts:
Lulumaam · 05/01/2011 20:01

ah right, sorry, i missed that....

if you think he is a perv and they are sexually inappropriate then that is a different matter in front of your DCs, but on the face of it, seems like just a total lapse of taste

charliesmommy · 05/01/2011 20:01

why is he a bit of a perv?

I am just not getting this at all... apart from the Ops moral outrage at someone showing a bit of flesh.

Serendippy · 05/01/2011 20:02

I wore a tight red top on Christmas day. My DH quite fancied me in it. DD (1) didn't seem to mind and everyone else kept their thoughts to themselves (not that I was spilling out of it or anything, just pointing out that my DH and I 'got a kick' out of my outfit) I don't care if she is a grandma, mum or single lady, it sounds like a bit of fun that was not particulatly tasteful. Luckily Christmas comes but once a year...

Lulumaam · 05/01/2011 20:02

is it any worse though than , say, a wife wearing hold ups under her outfit, and the husband is the only one who knows and they both get a frisson out of it? apart from a sexy santa outfit being utter bad taste?

friedtoacrisp · 05/01/2011 20:03

Well bugger me rigid - it's the idea that they might have been getting their kicks from the outfit! Heaven forfend! Stand by everyone and clutch at your pearls!!!

mutznutz · 05/01/2011 20:03

Oh dear god. Short skirt and boots up to the knee...cleaveage on show and for some reason you're not keen on her choice of choice of tights.

Yes of course you're being unreasonable. She's still a young woman and if she looks good in it then all power to her!!

What do you mean by them 'getting their kicks out of it'...do you mean inappropriate sexual contact infront of your children?

If so then you shouldn't send them there no matter what outfit she wears.

charliesmommy · 05/01/2011 20:03

I would say age is very relevant... an 87 yr old in skimpy clothes is very different to a 41yr old woman in them..

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 05/01/2011 20:04

yes i suppose that is teh same lulu and seren. i think it was just the obviousness of it in teh photos that made me cringe
