Probably not the right place for it, but never mind. Thought it would be interesting to share the above;

  • 'Putting them to sleep on their back, well that is just the latest fad, you should put them to sleep on their front'
  • 'You make her nap too much, she won't learn anything'. I tried to explain the benefits of a 3 month old napping, but it fell on deaf ears.

Next?

..and the differet faces that it takes. The stories I can tell you of MIL laying her lawn down with me and has become a mouse with SIL kids as she wont have it...

I did take it to keep peace and it has come back to bite big time.

My MIL questioned why on earth I gave our dd a bath every evening (she loves her bath, and it's part of her bedtime routine) because the lady who lives across the road thought it was too much, as her grandson only had a bath once a week, and my sil only gave her twins a bath once a week, so why would I "overwash" my dd.

I told her it was none of her business and that me and my dh were caring for her just fine. To be fair, it was a slight over-reaction, but it was the comment that broke the camels back and the fact that she had discussed our parenting skills with other people to decided whether we were doing the right thing by our dd or not!!

I now have visions of your MIL having a cuppa over the garden fence and having a good old chinwag!
