AIBU for not boycotting EE ATM

AIBU for not boycotting or annoyed about the EE baby storyline??

As it seems everyone on here is against it.

I see it as at the end of the day it is just a soap and they are gonna occasionaly touch on sensitive issues

oh why would you boycott something just because a few posters are?

porcamiseria · 02/01/2011 21:43

i am also watching , that said I find it a very upsetting story as have a 4 month old, car crash viewing

newmum001 · 02/01/2011 21:45

I must admit i did find it a bit shocking last night but i agree with you. Soaps do touch on sensitive subjects every now and then but this is why we watch them is it not!

I will however be boycotting corrie as i cannot bear to see Sally Webster pawing all over Tyrone Grin

Hai1988 · 02/01/2011 21:45

A few i thought it was everyone tbh, havent found anyone till now

no YANBU to watch it if you want to but as you clearly already know that posters on here are not as they find it upsetting this thread seems a bit unnecessary

newmum001 · 02/01/2011 21:49

Her "come back" was piss poor. I have rarely seen such wooden acting!

TheManWhoSoldtheWorld · 02/01/2011 22:33

Unnecessary thread and obviously you have read that people feel it is not being sensitively handled.

curlymama · 02/01/2011 22:37

YANBU, I'm still going to watch, and I also refuse to watch that shite that ITV churn out.

I've wondered if I must be some sort of hard faced bitch because watching it doesn't bother me, what with it not being real and all.

I do understand that it will upset some people and that there are reasons to disagree with it, but I just don't give soaps that much credibility tbh.

2shoes · 02/01/2011 22:38

yanbu
I am not watching it for a couple of episodes as by choice, will be back to it on tuesday.
I don't boycott thinks cos mn tells me to iynwim

SantasMadMissy · 02/01/2011 22:40

yanbu

Rockbird · 02/01/2011 22:44

Do what you like. I'm not watching it, but I don't care if you do, why would I?

MissBubbles · 02/01/2011 22:54

i have been watching it since the very first episode and am not going to stop now, yes the stoylines were really upsetting, as tho its ee and not real, things such as this do happen in real life.

what with magazines and the internet we all knew what was going to happen anyway, therefore, if we felt it would be too upsetting for us, we had the choice of missing those episodes, after all the bbc didnt knock on our doors and hold a gun to our head :)

TheManWhoSoldtheWorld · 02/01/2011 23:04

That's ok then. As long as you enjoy it.

MissBubbles · 02/01/2011 23:24

i do understand people being upset by it, i was myself a a parent and aomeone who is ttc, i just think to boycott ee over a couple of upsetting episodes isnt something i feel a need to do

MissBubbles · 02/01/2011 23:25

that was supposed to be as a parent and someone who is ttc, blooming iphone

Grin I am going to bed on that note.

MissBubbles · 02/01/2011 23:32

ouch, no need to hurt yourself, we all just have different opinions is all, and if someone wants to boycott it its up to them, i was just giving my opinion, wasnt in anyway trying to say everyone has to agree with me lol

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 02/01/2011 23:36

why would you come on to post an unnecessary post on a thread? just read and ignore if you no likey. it was clear from the title what the gist of the thread was. you didn't need to click on it.

GypsyMoth · 02/01/2011 23:39

its over acted rubbish......every storyline is,all taken out of context. this storyline is no different.

i barely watch it at best of times, teenagers in the house do,so might catch it then briefly. cant stop them watching it either

scottishmummy · 02/01/2011 23:43

i can differentiate real life from telly.so no

ee is schlock and enacts trauma, murder and loss to manipulate viewing figures

soaps are exaggerated high emotion schlock, aim is to get gums bumping and media coverage

and i see aim fulfilled with this storyline.
