AIBU for not boycotting or annoyed about the EE baby storyline??

As it seems everyone on here is against it.

I see it as at the end of the day it is just a soap and they are gonna occasionaly touch on sensitive issues

i think the storyline will run for a few months yet, so u may need to get a friend to update u on the other stories

classydiva · 02/01/2011 23:57

I thought it was a shit storyline, if it is supposed to be like real life why aren't there any happy scenes?

cornshilk007 · 02/01/2011 23:58

where on Mumsnet has anyone mentioned a mass ban of EE anyway? Some posters who watched it have decided not to - fair enough.

stLucia · 03/01/2011 00:00

YANBU

scottishmummy · 03/01/2011 00:11

look unfortunately any soap has done story impacts upon most folk.death, trauma, family tension, rta, rivalry

up to the individual to decide how able they feel to view. if it hurts dont go there

Lynli · 03/01/2011 00:49

I think when they cover sensitive story lines it would be good if it could be done realistically and give those who have not experienced their topic some insight into it.

Those who have experienced the death of a child know that you cling to them as long as possible not try to exchange them for one that works.

YANBU to watch it if you want to, those touched by it are not unreasonable to object.

scottishmummy · 03/01/2011 00:56

but why expect a false premise like tv to act like in real life, that is unreasonable

tv soap is hyperbole and fiction, and doesn't owe a nod to reality.in fact people watch for escapism because isnt real

if something made up impacts on rl,then avoid it.cant expect sensitive tactful handling of topics such as
adultery
loss
neighbour swapping weans
.....as isnt real

confuddledDOTcom · 03/01/2011 01:06

I'm so pleased for you all that you've not experienced the pleasure of watching your OH lower your child's coffin into the ground.

scottishmummy · 03/01/2011 01:12

dont assume we havent

GypsyMoth · 03/01/2011 01:34
