My dd 4, and ds 2, got silly amount of goodies for crimbo. I took it all out of packets, and had enough bars/bags to fill up a large freezer bag (we are talking choc coins, chomps etc!)

Now, on day 2 of January, me and DP have nearly eaten all of it Blush

I feel sooo guilty.

No it needs to be eaten before the schools go back.
We have a box of after 8s and some Green and Black squares which will emerge at a dinner party.

mummyshreddingnora · 02/01/2011 20:20

well I have hidden let dd forget about a giant tube of pink smarties which I am working my way through!

mollymax · 02/01/2011 20:21

Will your children notice you have eaten it all?
Mine certainly would, or the two older ones would, not sure if my 3 year old would be bothered.

inkyfingers · 02/01/2011 20:23

Good for you - bad for their teeth. buy some more if they notice.

earwicga · 02/01/2011 20:25

YANBU. Says the woman who once took out the chocolate bars of the Easter eggs one evening before Easter.

susiedaisy · 02/01/2011 20:29

eating a big box of their maltesers at this very moment!

busymummy3 · 02/01/2011 20:32

My DH always eats their Easter Eggs (not the 'insides' )!!!

tallwivglasses · 02/01/2011 21:19

You are absolutely doing them a favour Wink

NotAnotherNewNappy · 02/01/2011 21:25

YANBU - 4 and 2 is too little for huge amounts of chocolate. MIL bought DD (2.4yo) a Lindt chocolate santa, I let her have some but ate most of it. Told myself I was saving her from certain childhood obesity Xmas Grin

RuthChan · 02/01/2011 21:29

I am so happy to hear that I'm not the only one who does this! :o

mummyosaurus · 02/01/2011 21:40

I am eating my kids too.

They are 3 and 5. I've let them have some and the rest was forgotten up on a cupboard so I am working my way through it.

Chocolates not good for them.

I am going to buy them some mangos and pineapples as I do feel a little guilty, even though I am doing them a favour really.

RuthChan · 02/01/2011 21:43

mummyosaurus:

You're eating your kids?!!!

That's a different problem all together! :o

Grin

RuthChan · 02/01/2011 21:58

Yes cat64, my DD is 4 and she is starting to catch on.
She sometimes asks about items that I have removed to satisfy my chocolate addiction for her own good.
I'm usually able to fob her off, but it won't last much longer...

earwicga · 02/01/2011 22:02

Mine used to smell chocolate on my breath. They knew I had been eating it. Far too clever for their own good...

lazylula · 02/01/2011 22:07

Mine got lots of chocolate selection boxes this year (I think 5 selection packs, 3 bags of coins, a chocolate santa and 2 tubes of sweets each). I have hidden them and let them have a bar when I feel generous. I do feel the wispa bars are wasted on a 2 and a 5 year old, so have eaten 2 so far Grin. I reckon they will have enough chocolate to last for a good few months, saves me lots of pennies lol!

earwicga · 02/01/2011 22:08

Flake bars are definately wasted on children!

mummyosaurus · 02/01/2011 22:11

Sorry, should have read that through before posting, I am of course, eating my kid's chocolate!

If the kids are old enough to notice it missing, you explain it's a Christmas Tradition that the parents eat at least half.

tallwivglasses · 02/01/2011 22:31

Trust me, it works.

TickettyBoo · 02/01/2011 22:33

YANBU

My lo is only 7.5 months old, ooh I have years of eating her chocolate to look forward to :D

TickettyBoo · 02/01/2011 22:34
