To think this is weird clothing?

Have posted about BIL and his GF before and their very PDA.

We are at ILs for our traditional family NYD lunch, it's something we all look forward to and make abut of an effort for, lovely food, wine, get dressed up etc.

Everyone looks lovely, DD is having a whale of a time and then BIL's GF comes downstairs. BIL is in smart trousers, shirt etc and she is wearing pink PJ bottoms, a basque 3 sizes too small and a tatty black Cardigan.

DH joking said "had she just got out of bed?" and she replied "no I've been getting ready upstairs" apparently this is what she is wearing today.

AIBU to think that is just odd? She knows what we do on this day as MIL and me were talking about it on Christmas Eve with her and saying what we were wearing etc.

Your DH was incredibly rude...I would be ashmed of mine if he commented on her clothing like that. Maybe she hasn't go money to buy anything "nice".

I am wearing Monsoon for those who asked, BIL and GF have gone back to bed with raging hangovers stomach problems so I can take off my judgy pants now.

She had a 'tatty' black cardigan on over the basque so it wasn't like she had her norks hanging out.

Sounds most odd to me. Feel free to judge OP, the people on here that obviously enjoy looking like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards obviously don't comprehend the concept of a day where you dress up

Well there you go then...my 18 year old ds's idea of dressing up is to put his least raggy jeans on and maybe iron his t shirt

I don't know any 18yr old girls who would "dres up" by wearing PJ bottoms, a basque and a tatty cardigan
