Sorry he's not with you at the min, of course you're NBU for wanting him to nick a helicopter, I'm sure nobody'd notice Grin

penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:10

Can he get my OH whilst he's at it? It's crap isn't it?

BlueCollie · 31/12/2010 22:11

that's what I thought and I'm sure if he went fast enough he'd get here in time Grin

BlueCollie · 31/12/2010 22:13

Yep definately crap although I shouldn't really complain as he only went back from R and R on boxing day....it's just that I am more a NYE person than a chrismas one lol
Has your husband been home on his R and R yet?

penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:13

I did get a message earlier, apparently the NYE party out there wasn't up to much!

emmyloulou · 31/12/2010 22:13

No YANBU I was in this position last year.

YABU ARMY helicopter, everyone knows it's the RAF who do the hardwork in that field Wink

penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:14

Yes, in August :(

BlueCollie · 31/12/2010 22:15

My bloke didn't even go to the NYE thingy...shame as I am sure the Karoke would have been funny sober!! However, Alex and Jordan on the tele is so not funny...jesus!

onimolap · 31/12/2010 22:16

Small snag, max flying range wouldn't get him past Pakistan.

Perhaps he should set his sights on a C17? Or an executive jet from the UN?

Mists · 31/12/2010 22:16

Can he really get a helicopter? He will be well in demand come the zombie apocalypse!

BlueCollie · 31/12/2010 22:16

August???? Thats a long time away. When did he leave? Poor you. Hope you have plenty of friends and family around you. Now where's my wine glass..............

OP posts:
BlueCollie · 31/12/2010 22:17

Hmmm maybe and executive jet would be better.......

OP posts:
penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:18

Neither did mine, offered to cover a duty so someone else could go as he's not into that sort of thing either, at least not without a wee dram! I've given up on crap TV and debating bed....

onimolap · 31/12/2010 22:18

Or given that he'd have to fly at supersonic speed to be here in time, perhaps an F16 or F18 if he has a band of like-minded outlaws to fix the in-flight refuelling.

BlueCollie · 31/12/2010 22:19

ooh now that would be cool an F16 landing in my street him rushing in and throwing me about (in a good way!) then swigging a glass of wine......................

OP posts:
penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:21

Left April, doing 12 months but for some stupid reason we decided the second lot of R and R in Feb would be better than Christmas (mistake!!!)
Wonder how many could be squeezed into a Typhoon, that might do it.....

emmyloulou · 31/12/2010 22:23

I'll ask my hubby if he's up for a mercy mission, brb he is playing games in 3d........

BlueCollie · 31/12/2010 22:24

12 months....how comes so long? I think lots in a typhoon as you can strap some onto the outside of plane with a bit of masking tape Wink

OP posts:
onimolap · 31/12/2010 22:27

Typhoon?!?

Ummmm ..... one, the pilot!

You could probably fit dome in the underwing pods (usually used for missiles or additional fuel).

onimolap · 31/12/2010 22:29

"dome" .... some!

penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:29

Because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time when the idea of the post first came up, then didn't really argue because he thought common sense would kick in and the post wouldn't be created and then it became too late/too difficult to argue...

Kbear · 31/12/2010 22:29

...and there I was feeling miserable cos my DH is on nights and sitting on a jetty down on the Thames waiting for a ship and I wish he was here drinking Baileys with me on NYE.

Hats off to you girls for coping when your DHs are away on a tour and for your brave DHs out there in Afghanistan or even somewhere less dangerous. I raise my glass to you all and count my blessings that DH will be home getting on my nerves tomorrow!

Happy New Year!

penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:30

you cold squeeze in a few more...couple on the wings at least....

penguin73 · 31/12/2010 22:31

Thank you Kbear, enjoy your baileys!

GwennieF · 31/12/2010 22:32

That seems entirely reasonable to me!
