We have been snowed since late November with only three days respite a fortnight ago. The car is stuck on the main road at the bottom of the hill a mile away.

My children are revolting.

DD (7) is v v upset as she misses her dad (long story but basically she can't visit him atm and he refuses to visit her) - she is behaving atrociously and tried to run away yesterday to find him. In the dark and the snow, when it was -2 outside. DP had to spend an hour looking for her.

DS (5 months) has got a horrible cold, is teething, and having a growth spurt as well. He spends most of the time making a noise like a Very Pissed Off cat. My nipples and ears feel like they are going to drop off if I get bitten once more or hear any more fucking yowling. Nothing consoles him - not the sling, not the boingy chair, not the jumpy-doodle bouncey toy, not the buggy, not being cuddled, not calpol.

I have just got my first period since having DS. Deep joy. My mooncup doesn't seem to fit properly anymore

The bastard dog shat all over the carpet after eating the compost Angry. Managed to find an offcut to replace it and then the baby shat on the new bit. Clearly I am not meant to have a decent hygienic floor.

At least I have brandy...

FrostyAndSlippery · 27/12/2010 22:03

Her dad refuses to visit her?

You can have extra sympathy for that, as can your DD.

Am PMSL at typing gin instead of grin though. Now that IS a Freudian slip :)

ChristmasTrolleyRage · 27/12/2010 22:06

I'll send sympathy.

But I have to let you know - you have a way with words - I've chortled.

Xmas Grin
cookieraymond · 27/12/2010 22:07

I hear you and am attempting to feel an ounce your pain. That is one tough couple of months you are having there. Brandy is good.
And I totally agree on the snow front. Why doesn't it just Foff and melt and stop ruining everyone's plans!!

hang in there...

ChristmasTrolleyRage · 27/12/2010 22:07

And where the fark do you live?

mylifewithmangers · 27/12/2010 22:08

Hands up. You win the shittest Xmas story award.

Tell it to the brandy - it's a good listener

Hugs too. Un-MNetty and all that.

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 27/12/2010 22:16

Welsh borders ChristmasTrolleyRage. But we live over a mile from the road up a steeeep dirt track so it doesn't take much snow to make it impassable.

The brandy is going down a treat. Unfortunately I can't administer it to the children though I suspect it would resolve their ills too, at least temporarily. Laudanum should never have gone out of fashion Xmas Wink

Thank you all for the sympathy - keep it coming Grin

ChristmasTrolleyRage · 27/12/2010 22:17

Fark.

Have you enough alcohol food?

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 28/12/2010 21:40

Plenty of alcohol but less food.

However we have had some kind of prayer-answering miraculous thaw! Its now 5 above freezing - Waitrose here I come in the morning Grin

OP posts:
TheOldestCat · 28/12/2010 21:42

Oh dear, poor you. Hope you do make it to Waitrose!

taintedsnow · 28/12/2010 21:43

Sympathy in abundance for you from here.

You are very funny though, I need to point that out! Xmas Grin

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 28/12/2010 21:48

I don't feel funny Xmas Angry

UnderTheRadar2212 · 28/12/2010 21:51

Hmmmm.

How come a 7 year old can/is allowed to escape in the dark/snow, for whatever reason?

Sore nipples/colds/whiny brats are what you would expect for a 5 month old? Why complain, you signed up for that when you opened your legs with no contraception?

As for the dog - with the kid running away & the baby yelling, I can't help but feel sorry for it - maybe it asked to be let out but you lot were otherwise engaged?

:|

taintedsnow · 28/12/2010 21:56

You are a very good writer. Don't be mad at me! :(

I really like you!

MsKLo · 28/12/2010 21:57

Grin
QueenOfFlamingEverything · 28/12/2010 21:58

Ooooh UnderTheRadar who rattled your cage?

We don't lock the kids in you know Hmm

And I was asleep when the dog's arse exploded on the floor, if that counts as 'otherwise engaged'.

OP posts:
MsKLo · 28/12/2010 21:58

are you breastfeeding? at least the brandy will help the little one with the teething Wink

AlistairSim · 28/12/2010 21:59

Really, UnderTheRadar? Really?

ModreB · 28/12/2010 22:02

hugs. sympathy. lots of love.

UnderTheRadar - If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

UnderTheRadar2212 · 28/12/2010 22:03

He he!

Just my opinion, going on the OP like............. :o

Really Queen, asleep? What, while your 7 yo is out on her own, the baby's crying/teething and the dog's shitting on the floor?

Good bloody earplugs you've got.............

UnderTheRadar2212 · 28/12/2010 22:05

Sorry All, I've no respect for anyone who says 'my children are revolting' so scuse me for being a bit flippant! :)
