Think you're going to have to give a bit more info for MN to sit in judgement.

Who's CSL?

Have you got a link to their advert?

jonicomelately · 24/12/2010 16:08

Can't do the link.

CSL are one of those sofa companies. I think it's CSL. Could be DFS actually. I was too pissed off to notice.

Basic premise is Katie Price lookalikey sings Girls On Film while a couple of models dance around a sofa in their underwear.

I kid you not.

I pointed this ad out to DH last night- I find sofa adverts so irritating anyway, but this one wound me up.

Because of course women love prancing around their new ugly sofa in their underwear with a couple of scantily clad friends. Hmm

YANBU.

jonicomelately · 24/12/2010 16:14

I do it all the time Phish. Don't you Wink

Only after a few bottles glasses too many! Grin

AngelZigzagsSparklyYuletideLog · 24/12/2010 16:18

There's no accounting for what people get up to in their own homes Grin

I mean it sounds terrible, I'm outraged Grin

lazarusinNazareth · 24/12/2010 16:38

In a few years they'll be having sex on it while the husband leers on from the corner Xmas Grin

glovesoflove · 24/12/2010 17:29

YANBU

their ads are always shit and weird (the robots singing about being "autoerotic", the terrible divorce plotline with awful James Blunt song etc) but this one proper pisses me off.

The furniture is seriously vile (who? who? has these eyesores in their home? who?) so I don't really need to say I wouldn't shop there on principle, but I wouldn't, not even if they started selling magazines and stamps (trying to think of something I like buying).

Flisspaps · 24/12/2010 18:22

YANBU.

They must have skipped straight off the X Factor set onto the CSL set.

SantasENormaSnob · 24/12/2010 18:24

yanbu

cheesesarnie · 24/12/2010 18:28

my cousin was in a dfs advertGrin

AmandaCooper · 29/12/2010 13:02

I've made a complaint about this advert, I've never bothered complaining about any ad before but the pornographic content of this one is just so unnecessary and crass. What's with all the shit adverts from this company?

ManateeEquineOhara · 29/12/2010 13:05

YANBU, I hate this kind of thing. Not seen it though thank god, I tend to avoid TV.

VeryStressedMum · 29/12/2010 13:26

Never heard of CSL, and the girl at the end doing the rock stomping bit just looks stupid.

HappyHECmanay · 29/12/2010 15:20

oh yes, I saw this.

I don't know why they don't just get a chap to bend one of those girls over the sofa and give her a solid shafting.

Angry

I saw it and went off on one at Himself. Grin Who was equally appauled as it happens. What have girls in brothel attire got to do with sofas?

I swear advertisers have one track minds. I've said it before and I'll say it again (and again and again and again, I promise Wink ) this is a sex mad society. Everything is about sex. We are being reduced to rutting beasts.

I predict ad campaigns along the lines of a woman pleasuring herself with a tin can and the tag line "Heinz - totally satisfying"

pornification of society.

And always women in the state of undress, available for your titillation.

Naturally.

nickelbabyjesus · 29/12/2010 15:27

i don't get it.

they're just dancing around sofas.
Confused

i didn't see them writhing around scantily clad.

i might have to watch it again.

btw - the video Duran Duran made to accompany that song was pornographic.

nickelbabyjesus · 29/12/2010 15:28

okay, i missed the underwear bit when i watched it last time.

still don't think it's that bad.

nickelbabyjesus · 29/12/2010 15:28

sorry, I meant, I agree with Hec Blush

Wink
HappyHECmanay · 29/12/2010 15:31

dancing around sofas in sexy underwear. bending over at the camera, sexily stroking the leather, thigh high hooker boots, spread legs - seeing the sofa through them, laying on the sofa with a 'come get me' look...

for a sofa ad?

HappyHECmanay · 29/12/2010 15:31

Grin hahaha

yeah you do.

or else.

Porcelain · 29/12/2010 15:33

I used to really hate those old sofa ads, where a loud news anchor type would walk through the showroom, blaring on about their favourite offers.
Come back low budget sofa sale ads, all is forgiven.

superv1xen · 29/12/2010 17:56

i agree, its awful.

and their sofas are shit anyway :o

nomoreheels · 29/12/2010 18:08

I hate the ad too, but mainly because it doesn't make sense with regards to selling sofas. And if it is a homage to Duran Duran, it's pants on that level too.

I'm surprised DD allowed them to use it (assuming they have publishing rights)

foxxxyblonde · 31/12/2010 23:28

It's absolute shite. Totally drives me mad when it comes on tv. I think it's disgusting that the real barbies gash and butt cheeks are hanging out.....seriously during the day too. All this for a crappy sofa.

If I want to watch porn...I get my proper collection out thank you very much LOL Grin
