Oh I get it earwica! You have been a guest in her majesties hotel many times yourself Grin

Hope you liked your stay.

earwicga · 14/12/2010 01:33

Eh? I am now a convicted jailbird, several times over because I am able to watch a video and see a man being assaulted. Seriously odd. Horrible in fact.

ThisIsANiceCage · 14/12/2010 01:34

"Brighter than average thanks earwicga. I don't have to resort to personal attacks"
"Oh I get it earwica! You have been a guest in her majesties hotel many times yoursel"

Oh god. Now I'm definitely going to bed...

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:34

Then maybe you are a brief?

klauskinskiinthekinotech · 14/12/2010 01:35

Thisisanice cage I was not burbling someon else mentioned earlier about the kids on the demo. Many of us have gone off in a tangent here and I am actually v.interested in Jody and his plight at the demo as I followed him (his career at least0 before this. I suppose you don't "burble"ever do you?Xmas Angry

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:36

No earwica, because you believe what you see in the media OR you have a personal grievance with the police. Unlike with the clip, I can only see a few reasons why.

MrManager · 14/12/2010 01:39

You break the law, you get put on the floor.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:40

You don't have to break the law, just be a suspect of breakignthe law. Thanks MrManager, You speak sense.

MrManager · 14/12/2010 01:42

Grin Ooh, that'll annoy earwig.

ThisIsANiceCage · 14/12/2010 01:48

Jeez, you guys have shown up exactly what many here are complaining about!

01:40 "You don't have to break the law, just be a suspect of breakignthe law."

but at 01:01 "But can you categorically say that there was no reason for the police to do it?"

This differing standard of proof is what winds people up.

Klaus, I burble all the time! But I wondered if people were trying to avoid the questions about this specific incident. My bad if I got that wrong.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:52

I just don't get it [throws hands in air]

No matter what a person's background is, what the situation is, what the circumstances or intelligence is THE POLICE are always at fault.

There are courts in this country that work on the basis that you are innocent until proven guilty HOWEVER the Police are guilty until proven innocent and if proven innocent it's never mentioned again.

The Police get a rubbish pay for what they do. They face daily dangers, appease people who would have been better suffocated at birth, mediate stupid arguments and act as evidence gatherers and remain as impartial as possible.

When one cropped you tube clip shows something, people jump on the bandwagon and police bash.

Although lets face it, people love to NHS bash too.

Never heard a bad word about a fireman though Grin

I've never met any of the people in the clip and it's unlikely I ever will. Should I judge the situation based on that short clip? NO.

I love fruitshoots, think all benefits claimants should reapply as it isn't a fucking right, people capable of working should do or get some education you thick bastards!!!!!!!!

As for students? I paid for my education and I still am. Tough fucking shit. Move to America and see what you get.

NHS is bloody fantastic and it's FREE. If you want first class care then PAY FOR IT!

If you think you can do better than the Police then apply. I bet you won't get anywhere.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:54

Oh and the clip is that clear isn't it? I'm supposed to name the person in the wheelchair? Why? Because I'm told it's Jody McIntyre? Could be fucking Orville for all I can make out on the dark, noisy clip.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:55

Oh and I think Boden is overpriced shit.

Cath Kidston is something my great granny would love.

But I do love my mooncup.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:57

Urm Cage, you have to be a suspect in something for you to be stopped/searched and believe it or not, some innocent people have been stopped and searched before.

If it was obvious who was guilty we wouldn't need courts would we?

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 01:59
KalokiMallow · 14/12/2010 02:07

Um... ?

FCM, I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears, but some of us actually do support the police except in circumstances where we think certain individuals are abusing their power. And I'm fairly certain most police would agree with that view.

As for the rest of your post.. well, god knows.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 02:17

Kaloki, I'm saying I can't judge based on one clip. I wasn't there. It's the principal that bugs me. People are do happy to jump on a bandwagon based on a 50 second clip. They then defend their position by stating that it's obvious what has happened. It's not IMHO. But, the sad fact if the matter is that people who were't even there will happily police bash.
I wasn't there. The officer may well be bang out of line. Most officers act within the law but some don't. Some make mstakes; they are human. It doesn't mean that every officer should be tarred with the same brush nor opinions formed before the full details are known.

It apauls me that court system is so unreliable as is the prison system. Police bashing won't help though.

Erm, I am claiming benefits and not working, I have more than one degree-level qualificaton, and the disabled person that I care for full-time regularly has to be re-assessed for their (obvious) entitlement to benefit.

I nevertheless expect to still be considered a citizen with a right to protest, and I kind of feel that our supposed law enforcement representatives should perhaps act legally?

Or is that hopelessly naive?

lowrib · 14/12/2010 02:23

Hillsborough? Shock

Hillsborough was a tragic waste of 96 people's lives, in awful circumstances, and is widely accepted to have been caused by police tactics.

But you are brining it up to defend the police?

Either you are indeed particularly stupid, or on the wind-up. I suspect a combination of the two.

OP posts:
funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 02:24

Hopelessly naive bof. With regards to benefits, I'm talking about those that think that it's a god given right never to work. Eg, someone on "the dole" who has no intention of working, their parents never worked nor did their grandparents. Not those who cannot work or those that care for someone who cannot work. There is a definite difference.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 02:28

Ah yes, the famous hillsborough riots where police started the riots. Or was it a few idiots that started it. I cannot remember...

KalokiMallow · 14/12/2010 02:28

fcm We are merely pointing out that the clip shows a man being dragged across a road, rather than any other method of moving him. You can see that in the clip right?

Even when I've seen other clips of policemen moving people who are definitely involved in criminal activity, they are still not put into a position which is likely to cause them physical harm. As has been pointed out earlier in the thread, without use of his legs he is unable to manoeuvre himself to either a) comply with the police or b) avoid injury to himself. Whereas the police officer could have waited for the other police officer, who was running over in the clip, to catch up and both move the man in a way that wasn't so likely to cause harm to him.

Even if he'd done something awful, the police are not there to use excessive force.

Though why I'm bothering to try and explain this to you, I really don't know. After all that shite you've written about benefit claimants.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 02:30

Certainly not on the wind up. Hows about we police bash those that tried to safely detain moat but he shot himself before there was time to praise him god being such a good citizen.

funkychunkymunky · 14/12/2010 02:31

You haven't met the same claimants as me obviously. I had to steal cos me benefit wasn't through.

BitOfFun · 14/12/2010 02:33

Are you quite well? Xmas Hmm
