I'm sick of all this racial equality shit too.

Tortington · 13/12/2010 13:29

dont be ridonkulous

equality for all

chipmonkey · 13/12/2010 13:41

Feminism does not stop men beating women up.
But it does mean that they don't have to put up with it.

AbsofCroissant · 13/12/2010 13:43

Yeah, evil Feminists. Women are paid much more money than men if they're supermodels forget everything else--

wussbird · 13/12/2010 13:45

Oh Trollina, wait til Xenia gets hold of this thread!

Tortington · 13/12/2010 13:50

who looks after those people who beat up old people

Tortington · 13/12/2010 13:50

ideologically speaking

santasakura · 13/12/2010 13:50

It is bollocks. You are right
Who needs money and power? Women are above all that.
Who needs bank accounts, after all?
And I've always thought that putting a paper in the ballot box was too taxing for my weak constitution.

Tortington · 13/12/2010 13:52

feminism didn't get women the vote

nor did it get them a bank account

WE ARE in a society where poor people have only just reletively recently been allowed the basic right to a bank account

I wish I was pregnant. Trollina is such a sweet name.

santasakura · 13/12/2010 14:01

Feminism got women the vote after a long, arduous struggle. WOmen activists were jailed and force-fed.

santasakura · 13/12/2010 14:03

MadameDeathStare,
Women have always worked full time AND looked after the children, the hosue, aging parents etc

What feminism did was allow women to be paid for their work, to receive their own wage (it used to belong to her husband) sometimes even as much as men

I thought Trollina was custy. It was the skiddies on the plumber thread that gave it away Grin

GraceAwayInAManger · 13/12/2010 14:12

Aksherly, Trollina, feminism did get women a bank account.

A married woman was not a legal or financial 'person' until the Married Women's Property Act 1882, which was vigorously promoted by British feminist Caroline Norton.

And of course feminism got women the vote. And equal pay for equal work, and the right to divorce, and the right to choose what medical procedures are applied to their bodies.

As you were, though, I'm eagerly awaiting Larry & Manager's arrival Xmas Grin
