to wonder about Cher's education

Why did Cher go back to her primary school?
Wouldn't her secondary let her into the building?

If that reception class even knew who she was and were allowed to stay up to watch Factor X, then they will now be traumatised by the Aguilira burlesque display.

btw why do you think it didn't all come out? are they holding it back for a bigger splash later?

Nancy66 · 12/12/2010 12:50

some of it did - lots of it needed the victims to speak and they were all too frightened to.

LoulouCapone · 12/12/2010 12:53

I haven't read any of the stories in the press about her, but my mum and I had a similar conversation...

I commented that all I had seen of her was through the show, I didn't like what I saw of her in the recorded bits or the way she reacted in particular to dannii's comments. Also cheryl constantly telling the public that cher's misreprestented in some way. If that was the case, for me it's about how she was being edited, why would they edit her that way if they wanted to how her as being sweet and innocent? Maybe because she isn't sweet or innocent? Last week she actually sneered at Dannii after her comments!

I too thought it was strange that she didn't return to her senior school. I didn't particularly enjoy school but would I go back and rub their noses in my success/ aim to win their vote. Hell yes... Unless I'd burned my bridges or didn't think I'd be very well received. I think the poor turn out for her generally was a good indication that the problem wasn't restricted to her school either.

LoulouCapone · 12/12/2010 12:55

Also while I agree that she can change, from what we've seen so far I don't think she will, and any fuure change will be carefully pr managed.

AitchTwoOh · 12/12/2010 12:56

what i saw just came across as the usual newspaper snobbery etc, i thought, and all part of the usual simon cowell storyline, so i had rather dismissed it as not relevant to her, iykwim? poor girl, brought up by a family of thugs. would be good if she stopped that cycle.

allnightlong · 12/12/2010 13:10

To me it's come across as Chers has taken a lot of flack for her family, maybe now she is likely to be spending more time away from them she will have time to grow into her own person.
She's still young and maturing I for one will be interested in seeing the adult she develops into on her own terms.

allnightlong · 12/12/2010 13:12

For those claiming that Cher is a bully I imagine it was also rather difficult for her being that her family are travlers and thugish I wonder how classmates reacted and treated her too. There is two sides to every story.

bitsyandbetty · 12/12/2010 13:12

You cannot blaim the girl for her family but also you cannot condone her behaviour because of her age.

bitsyandbetty · 12/12/2010 13:14

We have lots of travellers at my DCs school and none of them are thuggish and as far they are all accepted at face value by their classmates. It may change at secondary school though.

Panzee · 12/12/2010 13:14

llareggub they did the same to Danyl and Rhydian too. It's not just the girls they are mean to!

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/12/2010 13:18

For crying out loud, why does everyone bleat 'she is only 17, she is a child'

17 is not a child. She is big enough and ugly enough to be judged as an adult is on that show; she knew what she was getting into.

cupcakebakerer · 12/12/2010 13:22

GetOrfMoiLand - I agree. She's not a child. And if I was a bully when I was say 15 for example I'd still feel bad about it. If she has been a bully maybe it's time to hold her hands up and apologise - we all make mistakes (that's if the press got it right of course).

Oblomov · 12/12/2010 13:40

Limara, not very keen on your Aspergers suggestion. I have not seen any AS behaviour in her.

PosieParksHerSleigh · 12/12/2010 13:52

So she comes from a violent family, with a history of anti social and violent behaviour, we can see that she's 'rough' from her being caked in inappropriate make up and Cheryl punch a toilet attendant in the face Cole likes her. She seems like she's had a very rough start, notice no Mum and Dad or brothers in the home coming videos, just 'Nan', wasn't it?

Glad so many of you can list her shit life status and still come out saying that she's to blame.

Nancy66 · 12/12/2010 14:02

..that was her mum wasn't it - she just looks rough.

independiente · 12/12/2010 14:08

So all those who dislike Cher for her reported family and behaviour, is all the music you've liked/bought by artists with impeccable pasts? So, no Rolling Stones (drugs, bullying of bandmates), no Beatles (same), no... Well, pretty much most performing acts!. How about we extend that to all performing artists - actors etc. Not condoning horrible behaviour, just interested in why you think she shouldn't have a chance to be judged on her act because her family background is allegedly nasty.

Nancy66 · 12/12/2010 14:10

it's not just her family - it's her too.

PosieParksHerSleigh · 12/12/2010 14:16

But what would we expect from a rough family? A rough girl? DS has a horrid girl in his class she's very very rough, her mother is an alcoholic and the girl has no chance. She spent her first two years being so vile to other children that even though she's been nice for a couple of years noone wants to be friends with her.

Nancy66 · 12/12/2010 14:19

I get that - i see that if her family are scum then she's not going to turn out to be Pollyanna.

But she's been given the most amazing opportunity and she's still treating people like shit.

Shane Ward also came from a really rough, violent family - but he had not history of this behaviour himself and showed a little humility and gratitute for the chances he had been given.

Whelk · 12/12/2010 14:21

I thought she was good on X-factor. Different and feisty. Bit of an attitude but then so have most pop stars!

I don't read the red tops though so don't know any of the so-called back story.

PosieParksHerSleigh · 12/12/2010 14:23

I guess it's about how you can best survive.

princessparty · 12/12/2010 15:41

I like cher, I like her attitude.being a clean cut wholesome image isn't exactly a pre requisite for doing well in teh music industry is it, In fact quite the opposite

geraldinetheluckygoat · 12/12/2010 15:50

Crikey Nancy, you really dont like her do you? You're actually making yourself look pretty mean spirited...maybe you're no nicer than you'd have us believe Cher is?

Nancy66 · 12/12/2010 16:04

No, I don't like her.

I'm not mean spiritied at all, just privy to information some of you aren't. She's vile.
