Being decieved?...nothing wrong with letting your child know you love them and brought them gifts...don't get why you have to include Santa ans his magic...

WTF is it with all these Santa threads in IABU? Is it the Elf Liberation Front mounting an attack on Mumsnet to free the fat men from the tyranny of the red suits and bad fake beards?

Bingtata · 06/12/2010 21:22

It depends whether IABU to think that an adult pissing their own cynicism over a small child's parade is unacceptable even in the name of not 'decieving' them.

SixtyFootDoll · 06/12/2010 21:23

What a joyless existence you must live! My sincere sympathies for your children (if you have any...now or in the future)

overmydeadbody · 06/12/2010 21:26

yawn

zanz1bar · 06/12/2010 21:27

just had to drop my fly into the santa thread on chat.

Really amazed that people think its perfectly alright to encourage a child to believe in santa at any age but some of those poor kids are 10.

innocence is wonderful in a child, gullability, naivety and blind stupidity is not.

FFS santa as a wonderful christmas tradition in this country is only about 150 years old, your great grandparents didnt believe in a man in a red suit, so why tthink its traditional to MAKE your child.

Feel a full rant coming on, must breathe and let it pass in the spirit of the season. Splutters into my sherry!
