To think there is some misuse of the Pombear going on?

People seem to be dealing them out as though they were bicuits! They're not!

I thought they were to be used during those times when there was some extreme "Middle Class arsey-ness" going on..or am I wrong?

Can anyone actually tell me what they are for?

Or AIBU to be such a pedant?

Oh, but you're right about goldfish, they don't, so I guess your original point stands in the context you made it.

iTigress · 29/11/2010 22:30

GetOrf are you perchance the sort of poster who denies cliques exist and go off at tangents within threads to exclude newbies ?

If not, chillax, have a Bear

LaWeaselMys · 29/11/2010 22:31

I knew seahorses were the most amazing animal ever.

rebeccamumsnet · 29/11/2010 22:32

The Bear is for threads (such as this) to attempt to diffuse awkward or angry situations.

I think I can safely say deploying the bear on a thread where we are pissed off at the bear is not a good idea....

Fish in general have external fertilization. And goldfish.

Some fish do carry their eggs around as they mature (some snakes too) but they aren't pregnant, because there's no nourishment going on, no placenta and all that, they just hold fertilized eggs in a pouch somewhere. It's as if a chicken laid an egg (shell and everything) but then tucked it up underneath her wings until it hatched. Well that's what it's like in my mind anyway.

RebeccaMumsnet why do you have no capitals? I'm sure the other MNHQ people do. Have you been naughty and had them taken away?

Ilythia · 29/11/2010 22:37

WHat do we want?
A smiley twat.
When do we want it?
NOW!

Limez · 29/11/2010 22:37

I'm embarassed by the wanky bear. I'm also embarassed by the Biscuit That Thinks It's A Tit.

Come on people, I am we are so much better than these shite emoticons!

iTigress · 29/11/2010 22:38
Bear

Mmm, these are tasty. Anyone? Anyone?

TrillianAdAstra · 29/11/2010 22:38

A smiley twat or a twatty smile?

I know trill. I am conflicted by my smiley twat request.

My twat is not smiley. It's had children, it's more of a grimace...

iTigress · 29/11/2010 22:39

I don't think they work rebecca.

Trop · 29/11/2010 22:41

The bear is not progress, it is an afront to all that is Mumsnet.
We might as well start ((((((hugging))))))))))) ffs.

rebeccamumsnet · 29/11/2010 22:43

Clearly not on this thread

iTigress · 29/11/2010 22:44

It's not meant to be cutesy. It represents ridiculousness, middle-class silliness and barminess. It's also an in-joke. Y'know, like 'shiney' or 'cod'. Oh, are they ok?

Some people are touchy about times a'changin. It wasn't like this in their day, oh no, no bears then [catsbum]
