Who was that masked man?

Hullygully · 10/12/2010 09:28

La! Who was that masked man? Has he mistook the ver nature of this ball? Or is he on the run from our fine Southern boys?

Jins · 10/12/2010 09:35

Did that masked man bring any lemsip? Beechams would at a push. I fear that my well practised quickstep will end in an undignified heap

Hullygully · 10/12/2010 10:40

I believe there might be some LemJulepSip, Miss Jins. What a shame you are feeling a little dicky, now you shall miss the ball! No matter, we shall furnish you with a full account and dance with all your beaux for you.

Hullygully · 10/12/2010 10:42

Poor Miss Jins, how tragic she looks.

Merryhohohomammoth · 10/12/2010 14:56

What do you mean 'undignified heap', I was just having a little snooze in the corner.
How about a little oestro-gin chaud, to fight off the chill.

Hullygully · 10/12/2010 14:58

What a lovely idea, Miss Merry Widow! Let us summon the slaves and send them out to the still. I declare the gentlemen seem a little stiff this evening, perhaps we could offer them some and get their heels flashing.

Hullygully · 10/12/2010 15:01

Why I declare! They certainly can dance but they have clean forgotten the oestro-gin!!

MadameDefarge · 11/12/2010 19:43

do please share my beaux!

BeribbonedGibbon · 13/12/2010 09:29

Sorry not been on. Can't shift the grey cloud so been laying low. DD2 has been referred, poor thing has bronchitis too at the mo and is still smiling away bless her.

DD1 off to docs today as she was coughing so much she was throwing up last night Sad

Gibb,

Children's illnesses are NOT our fault. They do NOT make us bad mothers.

Every child I know at the moment is coughing themselves sick/has flu/bronchitis because IT IS WINTER AND THAT'S WHAT THEY GET.

Has dd been referred for exploration? Or are there theories?

Of course you're miserable, if you weren't there would be something wrong with you, it's horrid when the dc are ill, but it still doesn't make you a bad mother, sorry.

Have a big hug and remember IT WILL ALL BE ALL RIGHT IN THE END.

BeribbonedGibbon · 13/12/2010 10:05

Hully, you just brought tears to my eyes. Slaps much needed and gratefully received Smile

You're right, I know, just feel rubbish at the moment. No theories for DD2, lovely GP said DD2 so well and healthy in all other areas she is just slower in this one. She has referred as she said it's a legitimate concern as DD2 should be reaching out by now.

I have googled far too much, that is never good for the soul

Gah

Fuck, arse, bollocks, wank.

There, that's better.

Hullygully · 13/12/2010 10:08

Good.

DD2 is going to be a buddhist. I told you so.

BeribbonedGibbon · 13/12/2010 10:15

I giggled in real life there Hullster

Sounds like you are a really good mum Gibbs. Am not good at slaps and kicks, far too soft, but here have cake and cocoa( with slug of brandy for medicinal purposes)

BeribbonedGibbon · 13/12/2010 12:18

brandy always appreciated mini, thank you Smile

Hullygully · 13/12/2010 15:07

And if you weren't a GREAT mum, you wouldn't be on here beating yourself up. So there.

Jins · 13/12/2010 15:10

Brandy is the BEST!!!!

There isn't an ailment or worry that it isn't good for you know.

(and I think you sound like a fabulous mum as well)

Merryhohohomammoth · 13/12/2010 15:50

See we all feel better already, and while the bottle's out I'll just pour some over the christmas cake, dab a bit behind the ears and off we go.

BeribbonedGibbon · 13/12/2010 16:03

You really are all very lovely and kind. You do cheer me up Smile

I am just awful at waiting, I stew and fret and worry and fret and in my head, the outlook gets bleaker as I do. Bloody private health won't speed it up as it's classed as developmental/behavioural. Gits.

Picked up a nice Rioja whilst shopping earlier, will unwind tonight with a glass or two over dinner and try to be more chipper.

Thank you all Smile
