To think that Harry in Spooks is more attractive than Lucas?

Bear with me, I have been catching up on I-player.

I do not see the attraction of Richard Armitage (when playing Lucas anyway, I'm sure he's perfectly nice in real life). He is all pale and greasy looking, has tattoos than look like biro doodles, and also turns out to be an idiot/embassy exploder.

But Harry is nice, defends the realm, wears nice suits and loves Ruth. He also poisons evil politicians. He is much more attractive. IABU?

YANBU

(I still haven't watched the last episode of Spooks, don't know where last week went)

I think RA is sexier in a purely animal wooarggh way but what makes a guy really attractive needs more depth.

WhereYouLeftIt · 17/11/2010 21:25

YANBU. And you forgot to mention Lucas's permanent look of anxiety.

MarniesMummy · 17/11/2010 21:32

I'm with you.

YANBU.

Lucas has poor choice in clothes, tattoos and occasionally women.

fedupofnamechanging · 17/11/2010 21:39

Agreed. He is a far more interestig character too. I miss Spooks

potplant · 17/11/2010 21:42

YABVU

You obviously not watching closely enough.

whoodoo · 17/11/2010 21:42

There is something strangely attractive about Harry. Gutted he didn't get any further with Ruth. I'm with you grimmathegnome-certainly wouldn't kick Lucas out of bed (I like his tattoos btw) but much more substance to Harry

Chil1234 · 17/11/2010 21:46

Harry the human Shar Pei?... Hmm Maybe if he was ironed.

twirlymum · 17/11/2010 21:48

Dimitri is hot! All grown up now!

peggotty · 17/11/2010 21:48

Yes you are sort of not BU. However, his lips look like cold sausages. And he speaks in soundbites.

Mumsnut · 17/11/2010 21:49

Linky?

Mendeleyev · 17/11/2010 21:51

Sorry yabu. RA is sex on legs. Phwoooaaarrr.

Neither Harry, nor Lucas, but Matthew McFayden for me every time Spookswise.

Hmm. I am a doctoral student at the Armitage Academy (doing a PhD in The Role Of the Granite-Jawed 19th Century Mill Owner, As Personified By Mr Thornton).

You are right, I think, up to a point. Lucas has several character flaws (murder, treachery, bomb-planting) which can't be overlooked. Harry has many fine qualities and a nice line in aphorisms. But he is rather deficient in the smoulder department, being more of the dogged devotion type.

rookiemater · 17/11/2010 22:07

I'm liking the new chappie they introduced in the final episode with his lived in rugged looks, nice counterbalance to Dimitri, but none can compare to dear departed Adam. And yes I did find Lucas a tad overrated with his obviously dyed hair.

At least we ladies have something to ahem amuse ourselves, I hardly think their most recent female recruit has added much either in the looks or plot development department. I mean for someone who was allegedly paid highly for contract jobs she hardly seems very competent and wears rather unflattering knee length skirts. I am very fond of Ruth and think she is too good for Harry.

I need to get out more.

AlisonDubois · 17/11/2010 22:09

There is something about Harry...everytime he is in the same room as Ruth he looks like he is going to pounce on her, rip her clothes off, and take her over that big desk they all sit talking around. If I was Ruth I'd think 'works for me'!
He just seems to know how to get 'in touch' with a woman. But then again, you can't beat Rupert Penrys Jones for, well, anything really.

PamelaFlitton · 17/11/2010 22:10

Harry and Ruth should have got together at the end of the last series.

Black Prada is for girls.

PrairieOyster · 17/11/2010 22:11

Well each to his own - one man's meat is another man's poison - whatever... Not unreasonle for you to prefer Harry

For me, though, it would be be totally unreasonable to prefer Harry - Lucas has me well and truly in his grip... grin. Evil or no.

PrairieOyster · 17/11/2010 22:13

I thought it was Belstaff not Prada BTW

twirlymum · 17/11/2010 22:18

What can I say? I like them pretty, so Dimitri works for me.
Can't beat Adam though.
I can't see Matthew McFadyen as anything but a dour monk, since Pillars of the Earth started.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/11/2010 22:18

Now my speciality at the Academy runs more in the line of medieval studies, but in this case it Lucas all the way for me, and if you prefer Harry, that is fine, as that leaves all the more for us of the best thing that has happened to woman-kind since men were invented.
Never mind the evil, feel the smoulder.
