To think that Harry in Spooks is more attractive than Lucas?

Bear with me, I have been catching up on I-player.

I do not see the attraction of Richard Armitage (when playing Lucas anyway, I'm sure he's perfectly nice in real life). He is all pale and greasy looking, has tattoos than look like biro doodles, and also turns out to be an idiot/embassy exploder.

But Harry is nice, defends the realm, wears nice suits and loves Ruth. He also poisons evil politicians. He is much more attractive. IABU?

I agree that Harry is more attractive than Lucas. I also agree that Jedward are better than The Beatles, that cottage cheese is nicer than chocolate and that Su Pollard is fashion icon of the year.

I knew you would pick me up on that, LeQueen. I guess I feel that looking good in a Belstaff jacket just isn't sufficient atonement for those youthful errors.

AlisonDubois · 17/11/2010 22:30

Yeah, but he also murdered his mate and blamed someoneone else for it all to get away with it. Not really a lifelong trustworthy partner, no matter how good they look!

Ah, but what was that some French geezer said, Mlle DuBois
tout comprendre, c'est tout pardonner

Lucas had a very bad childhood you see.

For me the greasiness of the hair and general scruffiness is the main crime

Got my tin helmet on - I am absolutely in love with Simon Russell Beal (Home Secretary). I've always loved him, although he seems to have put a bit of weight on for Spooks.

edam · 17/11/2010 22:43

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is still pining after Tom. Matthew M has such lovely soulful eyes - you could drown in them. Lucas is just too obviously good looking (and uptight).

Harry has definitely grown on me, though. Would take him over mad scary Lucas any day. Something very attractive about loyalty to his woman combined with willingness to have dodgy politicians offed.

PamelaFlitton · 17/11/2010 22:43

Now even I draw the line at Simon Russell Beale, even though he is a fine actor etc. Have you seen 'A Dance to the Music of Time'?

ROFL at your "just so long as...." post, LeQueen! :o And of course there is always room for you at the Academy, you needn't ask :)

edam · 17/11/2010 22:45

Lucas also scowls a lot. Screws up his face as if he's really constipated. Someone needs to give that man a bottle of syrup of figs and he'd be a lot more relaxed. Grin

AlisonDubois · 17/11/2010 22:46

MadAsASnakeNana...the home sec...sorry, are we on the same series.!!!
Te new home sec is old, fat and ugly or have I missed something here?

MadAsASnake - He was a lovely Uncle Vanya (well, lovely may not be the right word exactly).

I think we need to gloss over Harry's role in the demise of the previous Home Secretary.

LeQueen - Boden is running that course. I am currently enrolling for The Elegance of the 19th Century Man of Trade: Mr Thornton's Cravats.

I know - he does look fat and ugly in Spooks - but he has charm! The man has the most beautiful voice in the world, a national treasure, one of our finest actors. Yes, I know Richard Armitage is gorgeous, but just not my type, still prefer Simon RB.

LeQueen - sorry, there is a big difference between angst-ridden and constipated and IMO Mr North is definitely in the second category. Presumably the diet in those Russian prisons left something to be desired..

Now Tom did a lovely line in angst and did not once ever put me in mind of someone who needs a laxative. Grin

PamelaFlitton · 17/11/2010 23:06

I'm sorry can we bring this back to Harry please??? Go over to your Armitage lust thread if you want to discuss his bowel movements.

Harry is a fine man, Pamela.
