Can't pass by the m and s mince pies. Have been steadily eating one or two a day with my coffee since start of November.

We have eaten one tin of Christmas chocolates so a few mince pies are ok

A few bottles of champers have gone too

melpomene · 11/11/2010 19:26

I had my first one yesterday. There was a box in the kitchen at work and I tried to resist, but when the colleague sitting next to me succumbed I had to have one too. Yum.

NeverArgueWithAnIdiot · 11/11/2010 19:28

YABU. Now you've made me crave one. AngryEnvy

ant3nna · 11/11/2010 19:33

YANBU. I made a batch last Thursday to test my mincemeat because I love mince pies and today I had some lovely puff pastry ones from Tesco. Lush.

blametheparents · 11/11/2010 19:44

Had one yesterday, my first of the season.
It was yummy Smile

Madinitials · 11/11/2010 19:47

YANBU - had two on Sunday with custard - mince pie season starts right here.

SamJones · 11/11/2010 19:58

If there can be half a dozen christmas trees along a short High St in my town then YADNBU to be eating mince pies.

Well, apart from the fact that there is a box of them in my pantry that I had previously been able to ignore!!

"If there can be half a dozen christmas trees along a short High St in my town then YADNBU to be eating mince pies."

too bloody right SamJones, the scoffing starts when the advertising starts, that seems fair!!

Will prob regret it in Jan when I get on the scales though! Sad

mollymax · 11/11/2010 20:45

Dh and I are actually tucking into mini mince pies at the moment. I had the oven on for dinner and needed to make use of the heat, so made a quick batch. (smile)

RememberToPlaywiththeKids · 11/11/2010 20:46

Yes please tassissss we MUST have the recipe!!! Pretty please??

ElspethDiggory · 11/11/2010 20:48

Oh I love mincepies. I'm holding out for homemade ones (pastry snob) which I will not be making until a couple of weeks before Christmas for fear of gorging myself stupid on --them them going off.

QuickLookBusy · 11/11/2010 20:49

Yes Tassissss the recipe sounds lovely, please divulge!!

staranise · 11/11/2010 20:49

Join us on the poncetastic Christmas thread in Christmas - it has to be read to be believed...

imgonnaliveforever · 11/11/2010 21:24

YANBU I had my first one late september, about 2 days after they first appeared on shelves. DH and I love them, eat them from about october to march! and miss them terribly over the summer months. Gosh, that makes me sound a bit odd doesn't it!

pointythings · 11/11/2010 21:55

I can't stand mince pies but would fight to the death for the right of whoever wants them to eat them whenever they want them. As long as I can tuck into all the lush chocs on offer for Christmas whenever I please.

DrSeuss · 11/11/2010 22:36

Mince pies are far too good to save just for Christmas. Lidl and Aldi have Stollen and Spekulatius (German ginger biscuits) which are just as gorgeous.

cyb · 11/11/2010 22:40

Havent read thread but I've eaten 2 mini Christmas puddings with cream already

I LOVE IT

CleanHankie · 11/11/2010 23:23

Started a fb arguement with my sister today over my mince pies. Accused her of eating them all while babysitting for me last night.

Have Waitrose All Butter ones at the mo (on special Wink). They are gooooddddd (even 10m DD2 thinks so when she nabbed it out of my hand at tea break time this morning)

Hot Cross Buns will be on the shelves in January, need to get the mince pie craving in now
