To want the scool to come down hard on this boy.

DD2 came home from school yesterday and told me that while the teacher had turned her back (to put on music for aerobics) a boy in her class pulled out his willy and waved it infront of the class. DD is in year 3 so she is 7, this boy is 7 or 8. Now in my opinion this boy should be dealt with harshly to bring home the message that this behavior is not acceptable. I spoke to the headteacher today who said she would inform his parents and let them have a word with him. Do you think that's enough. I was thinking at the very least a week of detentions (but then I am strict with my own children).

What would you feel is an adequate punishment for this sort of behaviour?

ginodacampoismydh · 11/11/2010 16:41

omg that so made me laugh. i do agree he should have got a right good telling off though by the headteacher. nothing more though

Heracles · 11/11/2010 16:44

Nail him up! Nail some sense into him!

IslaValargeone · 11/11/2010 16:45

Stropzilla, trust me, you don't want to know what a helicopter willy is...it's not attractive (wink)

diddl · 11/11/2010 16:45

I agree a good talking to from the headteacher should be enough.

Can´t help wondering if so many would find it so funny if it had been a girl showing herself off, though.

flamingpants · 11/11/2010 16:47

Oh strop, get hubbie to show you. Think gyrating hips, naked.

Then think of helicopter blade.

It ain't sexy. But it is hilarious!

OP I think you've been great at excepting advice, so many times people disappear or take offense. Good for you.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 11/11/2010 16:48

um

due to confidentiality you will not be told what the punishment/sanctions are so you will never know what was done anyway

FIMBOfedupofrandomfireworks · 11/11/2010 16:50

I wanna know what a helicopter willy is tooo. My ds is very proud of his and shakes it all about at any given opportunity, I might add at home not school.

Oh and I hate the phrase "get a life" too. It's like some form of teenager speak.

flamingpants · 11/11/2010 16:51

excepting I mean accepting. Blush

Suncottage · 11/11/2010 16:51

My friend caught her twin seven year old boys mooning out of the bedroom window at the postman.

She was RED with shame Blush

ForMashGetSmash · 11/11/2010 16:57

Flamingpants....if there is one saying which should be banned it's BOYS WILL BE BOYS!

This phraseis responsible for a LOT of crap.

I wonder how the school would have reacted if a girlhad got her vagina out and flashed that?

Doubt anyone here would have said "Girls will be girls" would they now?

The op is right in that a year 3 doing this is rather a worry...he's not 4...he is 7 going on 8...too big to be doing that.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 11/11/2010 16:57

Intrigued by this thread! Want my DH to come home so I can make him do helicopter willies!

I think you are being a wee BU OP, but you have taken your responses like a trooper.

Now I am worrying that ds (currently 3 and obsessed with his willy) will one day do this and I will be called up to the school- Oh the shame!

Heracles · 11/11/2010 17:00

Can´t help wondering if so many would find it so funny if it had been a girl showing herself off, though.

Bleh, there was a girl at my (Catholic) infant school who would show off her bits at the drop of a hat. She's turned out quite alright; who really knows what they're doing at that age? You know it's a bit naughty so you do it; why it's naughty isn't something you have the capacity or experience to process.

ChickensHaveNoLips · 11/11/2010 17:02

Loads of young children flash their bits. Most of us grow out of it. Ahem.

ForMashGetSmash · 11/11/2010 17:03

I'v never come across a year three doing it! Reception yes...year one...yes....after that? No.

ForMashGetSmash · 11/11/2010 17:04

Heracles....I dont think a girl would get off so lightly somehow.

LynetteScavo · 11/11/2010 17:06

I would demand his willy was shopped off and hung up at the school entrance for all little boys to be reminded never to wave their willy at the class when the teacher turns her back.

lottiejenkins · 11/11/2010 17:06

Grin @ suncottage!!!

forevervacuuming · 11/11/2010 17:08

A week of detentions? Way to give a 7/8 year old a complex! YABU Hmm

Tee2072 · 11/11/2010 17:09

Well, it would take a lot more effort for a girl, that's for sure, but I am not sure why she wouldn't get off 'so lightly'.

Where is the truly punishable offence here? These are children. He didn't do it to titillate or get himself off, as a flasher does. He did because he's 7 or 8 and he finds his penis funny.

I would bet the boys laughed and the girls rolled their eyes, with the ones without brothers watching intently to see what a penis looked like in person. Providing they have never seen their father's of course.

Suncottage · 11/11/2010 17:09

DP has just turned me down flat to show me a helicopter willy.

Angry

Can I borrow someone's DH please? I shall return him intact. I just feel like I haven't lived properly.

MrsBananaGrabber · 11/11/2010 17:10

Helicopter Willy = The Willy being swung in a circular motion akin to helicopter blades, almost always done when he's just emerged from the shower in my case......mine even does noises to go with it like when Ricky Gervais did that dance in The Office ;)

My son once got his willy out and did a wee in teh playgroudn as a dare. The school called me in, sat me down and seriously asked me was everythign all right at home, what a serious matter this was. I was biting my lip not to laugh.

Suncottage · 11/11/2010 17:15

Sixpercen

Very, very happy and excited Smile

I'll pop the kettle on - my neighbour Audrey is here and she is 86 and has never seen one either.

Actually - whoa there nelly - can I phone round a few people? He is proving popular.

ForMashGetSmash · 11/11/2010 17:17

So at what age does it become not ok? I am genuinely curious..
