I sent this to headquarters. If anyone wishes to support me great, if not well at least I tried

Hi there. It seems there is a certain amount of online bullying that happens on your website. Certain posters seem able to make very offensive comments and then either get away with it or if challeneged, they are viciously defended by their 'supporters'. I am sure this is not the culture you would wish to promote on your website and I feel tempted to report this elsewhere. I still believe that to say 'women who give up career choices they are stupid aren't they' should not be encouraged on your website where many SAHM post and do not wish to be labelled as stupid collectively. I would not make such sweeping generalisations about any group. Thank you for your time

Come on low brow types.

It is on late at night as well.

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 11:11

If I had sky plus my whole life would be ruined.

The thing would be full of Maury, Everybody Loves Raymiond and Masterchef Australia. I would never get owt done.

muddleduck · 03/11/2010 11:13

but I'm not a SAHM - am I really allowed to follow that link?
is there some kind of entrance exam?

ENormaSnob · 03/11/2010 11:14

Op, who is there for your dc whilst you chat shit on the net?

ApocalypseCheese · 03/11/2010 11:14

GallumDrawnAndQuartered · 03/11/2010 11:15

i love you lot. i truly do. how can 17 pags of such utter bollocks have made me so very happy. Grin

now. should i try the stairgate or call a litle man to do it and go and watch twilight dvds in bed?

Ormirian · 03/11/2010 11:15

Oh for crying out loud! If you are really upset about offensive comments there are plenty of others you could have picked on.

emy72 · 03/11/2010 11:16

It seems like you started this thread for people to join some sort of support club - support for what?

Most people who use this forum are used to the style and don't get easily offended. I for one wouldn't like heavy moderation to get in the way of a good old debate. Yes people do get carried away - but it is part of it.

WRT Xenia - she always makes me laugh and I enjoy her threads, even though I disagree with a lot of what she says. She is really funny in her own way and she doesn't bully anyone.

I haven't seen any bullying to be fair, there are plenty of people on here in support of SAHMs, and plenty of people who have made that choice.

I really don't understand what you're after.
BTW I have been a SAHM for a long time and don't feel offended by any of these posts you refer to - so count me out!

SecretNutellaFix · 03/11/2010 11:17

you again.

DanceInTheDark · 03/11/2010 11:17

I think part of my brain just seeped out of my ear reading this thread.

cba to even respond properly tbh.

Who had the biscuits? (thats the reason i am crashing the thread Grin)

scottishmummy · 03/11/2010 11:21

next time just pile in and post, dont stew or personalise it.and mn is not real we are on line strangers chewin the fat.it isnt necessarily deep or significant - it is fun

and you'd enjoy more if you just robustly challenge what you want and ignore stuff you dont fancy

like we all do

wishiwas21again · 03/11/2010 11:25

okay, okay letting it go

Xenia if you should happen to read this (although you probably won't because you are out earning your great wage Grin) I am not bullying you or wanting to offend. Next time I shall just disagree and have done with it

For any working mums I offended sorry. I think it is great to do if you can. What damages children is shitty parents not parents who work. I did not mean to make the comment about being there for your kids

For the rest of you well it has been fun if nothing else.

Don't be defeated. We may come across as a pack of jackals but we are nice people really except shirley.

pinkjello · 03/11/2010 11:26

Just waded through the whole thread now can't even be arsed to post. Except, I loved Maury especially when it was 'Jaydeen is here because she says she knows Wayne is her baby's dad. You may remember last year when she brought Ryan in and we tested him. Or in June when she brought David in and we tested him. Will it be third time lucky for Jaydeen?' Grin Grin

wishiwas21again · 03/11/2010 11:26

you see scottishmummy I do stew (although I don't personalise as such) that is my nature. Can't help it, oh well

FindingGuysMojo · 03/11/2010 11:28

I really don't understand what you are on about but you seem to be missing the point of MN - it's a forum of many different people & voices, some of which may rankle you. I see many people spouting what I believe to be complete & utter rubbish on here - but so what? I don't expect the world to agree with my views or expect to agree with the entire world myself. I focus on what I want to - it's down to me.

I suggest you stop hanging out in AIBU if you find the opinions of others too rough & tumble for you. There are many other brilliant topics here - go take a look.

MNHQ don't control the people who post here. If they did, no one would bother with MN.

DanceInTheDark · 03/11/2010 11:29

You're not defeated, you just have a different opinion.

Chalk it up to experience and move on. You weren't bullied. You made different choices that you firmly stand by - but so do other posters.

ray81 · 03/11/2010 11:29

Oh i so love reading these types of threads they make me smile. You lot are sooo funny

WashingBasketMonster · 03/11/2010 11:30

Does your computer have an off button OP?

If so, I suggest you use it when you next get offended by women discussing things on-line.

Honestly, go get yourself a real problem.

wishiwas21again · 03/11/2010 11:30

Oh god just had a lightbulb moment and wondering what the hell I have been harping on about

I am barmy

A good outcome on this sort of thread? Is this a first? Will some vicious bullying bitch come along and spoil it?

SparklingExplosionGoldBrass · 03/11/2010 11:34

Grimma: Somebody called?

Litchick · 03/11/2010 11:35

What is 'stately homes' ????
Don't tell me there's a section for people who live in them?

Imagines Xenia and Bonsoir chatting about chandeliers.
