I sent this to headquarters. If anyone wishes to support me great, if not well at least I tried

Hi there. It seems there is a certain amount of online bullying that happens on your website. Certain posters seem able to make very offensive comments and then either get away with it or if challeneged, they are viciously defended by their 'supporters'. I am sure this is not the culture you would wish to promote on your website and I feel tempted to report this elsewhere. I still believe that to say 'women who give up career choices they are stupid aren't they' should not be encouraged on your website where many SAHM post and do not wish to be labelled as stupid collectively. I would not make such sweeping generalisations about any group. Thank you for your time

Oh FGS - Are you on about this AGAIN?

I don't start threads on AIBU because I know I cant take it!
However, I love reading the threads because they get heated.
If you don't like a bit of sport discussion don't post in AIBU

Or just get a life...

muddleduck · 03/11/2010 10:14

as it happens I have seen what I would consider bullying on MN.

But this was most certainly not it.

ShirleyGunpowderPlot · 03/11/2010 10:14

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

scottishmummy · 03/11/2010 10:15

have mnhq answered yet,or are they too busy laughing

TandB · 03/11/2010 10:15

When you say report this 'elsewhere', OP, where exactly do you mean?

Your local MP? The serious crime squad?

cory · 03/11/2010 10:16

Having a different opinion about SAHMS/working mums does not amount to bullying. I disagree with Xenia on virtually every subject under the sun, but I would never presume to bully her. Haven't got a big enough steamroller for a start Wink

upahill · 03/11/2010 10:16

Kung Foo Don't forget about me!! I was there too!!!

BrownPaperBagOnMyHead · 03/11/2010 10:16

and me

lol

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 10:17

I too have seen genuine, toe curling and horrible bullying on mumsnet (only once mind) - it was utterly vile and thankfully the protagonists fucked off to moldie land in the end.

But Xenia voicing her opinion isn't bullying. One thing about her is that she is always general, and never personal.

TandB · 03/11/2010 10:17

Sorry upahill.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 03/11/2010 10:17

Thanks for all the tips that oatmeal bath sounds lovely!

rainyrainy · 03/11/2010 10:17

qwerty yes it was hideous, it was over 5 years ago, and I still get shakes and feel sick if I get an unexpected letter from work.

I ended up moving roles to get away from said boss, into a post I am not really qualified for and it has severly impacted on my work related condfidence, I lost my professional qualifications, as I didnt open any post for nearly 6 months so didnt pay my fees and I feel like a fish out of water looking for a new part time post mat leave, Im not qualified for the role I have been doing for the last 5 years, and I havent done the role I am qualified for for 5 years so work in that field would be hard to find!!!

Real bullying affects you in so many ways, emotionally, physically and often financially (as an adult), thinking a 1 off comment is bullying is nothing sort of a joke!

TandB · 03/11/2010 10:18
