I sent this to headquarters. If anyone wishes to support me great, if not well at least I tried

Hi there. It seems there is a certain amount of online bullying that happens on your website. Certain posters seem able to make very offensive comments and then either get away with it or if challeneged, they are viciously defended by their 'supporters'. I am sure this is not the culture you would wish to promote on your website and I feel tempted to report this elsewhere. I still believe that to say 'women who give up career choices they are stupid aren't they' should not be encouraged on your website where many SAHM post and do not wish to be labelled as stupid collectively. I would not make such sweeping generalisations about any group. Thank you for your time

OP posts:

Oh FFS this is Whinyarse Internet Lamer Bingo!
'Bwaaah! Someone disagreed with me and someone else agreed with them that they disagreed with me! That's BULLYING!'

'Bwaaaah! I'm telling ...my mum/teeecher/my lawyer/my therapist/the moderators'

'Bwaaaaaah! You can't possibly be mean to me because I'm THENTHITIVE and bad stuff happened to me in the past therefore I have to be patted on the head no matter how much shit I talk'

'NO one is taking me seriously so now I'm going to send my Twoo Story to Take A Break magazine, complete with the billions of photographs I have of myself holding a phone and wearing an anguished expression suggestive of acute constipation'

Go on OP, invoke GOdwin's Law and complete the set.

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 10:59

OP - put the telly on, Living channel, and watch Maury, it's funny.

BonniePrinceBilly · 03/11/2010 10:59

Riight, so you find one poster offensive so you start your campaign....other posters find you offensive and all they get is a SORRY?

Well that just doesn't seem fair. I'm going to have to complain to someone about you. Could you give me your list to save me some time?

ShirleyGunpowderPlot · 03/11/2010 11:00

wish

Listen, You haven't really upset me AT ALL. The point I was trying to make is that if someone is making sweeping generalisations like "ALL SAHM are stupid" (not that Xenia said this) or "ALL WOHM are not putting their children first"then I just think "Pfft, dick" and then I either engage and try to put forward a point of view or I disengage and move on to a thread about firework parties, or the best way to eat a creme egg. What I don't do is start another thread or two and want some kind of validation from a bunch of weirdo mumsnetters (ha)

For you to feel so massively personally attacked is just...daft.

AlpinePony · 03/11/2010 11:00

Too busy to read thread due to being at work and leaving my child pottering around at home in a pit of his own filth!

TandB · 03/11/2010 11:00

I can't actually face wading through the 17 pages of the original thread so I have just read the first and last pages, and really don't see what the fuss is about. Had I been posting on that thread then I would no doubt have had a little hissy-fit about the OP's "putting my child first" comments, and quite possibly about some of Xenia's comments as well. It is the nature of debate.
On a lighter note, still sniggering out loud about the comment on page 1 of that thread about important jobs making women's wombs fall out....

fedupofnamechanging · 03/11/2010 11:00

I am a SAHM. If someone called me stupid, I would call them on it because it simply isn't true. I wouldn't feel bullied though, because I am more than capable of defending my choices (if I feel the need).

I can see why someone would think it an unwise choice in todays economic climate, but as individuals we all decide what we think is best for our families, when we decide to SAH or WOH.

ginodacampoismydh · 03/11/2010 11:01

yerp Wink, hollY is a BITCH BTW

MaMoTTaT · 03/11/2010 11:01

ahh - if it's new it should be easily fixable - follow advice (advise? fuck - thank god it's not pedants corner I still get the two mixed up) given elsewhere on the thread then Grin

"You know if someone brands me as stupid because I don't work I am allowed to justify my reasons for doing so. That is not bullying."

Absolutely. Justifying your reasons is fine. Reporting to HQ, starting separate threads naming a poster by name, and threatening to take your complaints elsewhere is not exactly the same as justifying your reasons, is it?

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 11:02

Bunch of weirdo mumsnetters Grin

For all we know Xenia could be a SAHM called Brenda and live in a bungalow in Surbiton with a DH who is area manager for tesco.

The whole Nicola Horlick persona could be invented.

MaMoTTaT · 03/11/2010 11:02

GetOrf- when DS1 was little I used to watch Maury all the time Blush

muddleduck · 03/11/2010 11:03

WTF is Maury?

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 11:03

Mamo - I watched it last week.

Sharonda still doesn't know who her daughter Bilaxxi's babydaddy is Sad

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 11:04

Muddleduik - it is a 'confessions' programme which makes Jeremy Kyle look like a BBC 4 documentary on byzantine artefacts.

ShirleyGunpowderPlot · 03/11/2010 11:05

We should start a Maury thread.

I like the lie detector ones when the woman goes on and they're crying and then Maury says "This is sus'an^ah and she's really upset about her husband Vovvixxx, here's what she said"

Plinkyplonky music - su'san^ah crying "I love him so much but he only comes home once a week and always smells of pussy"

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 03/11/2010 11:05

"My neighbour is a single mum who works so that her daughter can live in a nice area and have nice things. I respect her hugely.

Equally I respect those that work to keep their skills up. Again I am very sorry it offended you"

I work so I can afford luxury holidays and mulberry bags. Will you respect me in the morning as well?

GallumDrawnAndQuartered · 03/11/2010 11:06

i needs to do some out of the home type work so may have to get a little man in to do it for me.

ShirleyGunpowderPlot · 03/11/2010 11:06

hahah GOML

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 11:06
muddleduck · 03/11/2010 11:06

so you have to be a SAHM to watch it?

ShirleyGunpowderPlot · 03/11/2010 11:07

VinegarTits · 03/11/2010 11:07
