I sent this to headquarters. If anyone wishes to support me great, if not well at least I tried

Hi there. It seems there is a certain amount of online bullying that happens on your website. Certain posters seem able to make very offensive comments and then either get away with it or if challeneged, they are viciously defended by their 'supporters'. I am sure this is not the culture you would wish to promote on your website and I feel tempted to report this elsewhere. I still believe that to say 'women who give up career choices they are stupid aren't they' should not be encouraged on your website where many SAHM post and do not wish to be labelled as stupid collectively. I would not make such sweeping generalisations about any group. Thank you for your time

BrownPaperBagOnMyHead That's good to know, I thought the OP had got a memo that I'd missed.

ljgibbs · 03/11/2010 10:45

Gets popcorn and diet coke and settles down to watch.

ShirleyGunpowderPlot · 03/11/2010 10:45

thanks md -

YOU'RE AAAALLLLLLLL CUNTS!

muddleduck · 03/11/2010 10:48

sorry - I accidentally gave you my work bad mother pass by mistake.

MittziTheMinx · 03/11/2010 10:48

Gallum.... have you tried that no nails stuff? Although you may never be able to take the stair gate down...

TandB · 03/11/2010 10:49

OP, I hope you didn't lick that biscuit before you handed it back.

Tootlesmummy · 03/11/2010 10:50

If that is all it takes for a report to MNHQ we're dooooommmeeeeeddddd.

MittziTheMinx · 03/11/2010 10:50

Am I one Shirley? I rarely get included in collectives..

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 10:51

See, this is why I love Shirley.

She can parody Maury AND be the voice of sense and reason, all in one thread.

VinegarTits · 03/11/2010 10:52
GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 10:52

Agree with Shirley that OP's comments re 'I want to be a mum who puts their child first' are as offensive as 'get a job lazy SAHMs'

I have always put my dd first.

wishiwas21again · 03/11/2010 10:52

Shirley - sorry of I offended you. It was a reactive comment to what was said before because I was offended by the insinuation that I was stupid for not working. However I do not believe that working mums do not put their kids first, absolutely not. My neighbour is a single mum who works so that her daughter can live in a nice area and have nice things. I respect her hugely.

Equally I respect those that work to keep their skills up. Again I am very sorry it offended you

VinegarTits · 03/11/2010 10:53

i put my career first, dc can cope on his own, its character building

MaMoTTaT · 03/11/2010 10:53

depends on how badly the stairgate is broken - we are now stairgate free in this house (though the one that was still up was on the kitchen door rather than the stairs) after DS1 pushed DS3 into it so hard it fell through the kitchen door and broke

OP - you really need to get a grip

I echo what Cory said just up there,

GallumDrawnAndQuartered · 03/11/2010 10:54

i work to escape the chldren. i'd have e-bayed the yonks ago if i had to stay at home with them. they're a bit feral and disturbed but they'll grow out of it.

wishiwas21again · 03/11/2010 10:55

Look I would like to state that I do not believe that. I am deeply sorry to those I offended.

OP posts:
GallumDrawnAndQuartered · 03/11/2010 10:55

the stair gate is new. the DDs are 12 and 14. gate is for the dog who won't learn.

BrownPaperBagOnMyHead · 03/11/2010 10:56

I had to put up battening (is that the right word?) to affix the stairgate to as it had been erm dislodged more than once and the dratted wall was getting ruined

so I say batten then screw to the battening

wishiwas21again · 03/11/2010 10:56

You know if someone brands me as stupid because I don't work I am allowed to justify my reasons for doing so. That is not bullying.

ginodacampoismydh · 03/11/2010 10:56

op if you are taking offence to what xenia has posted then thats fine, have offence but just get over it.

on the hand if you are frustrated beacuse you will never have the last word in a disagreement give it up and move on, she will always have the last word is just her nature, my sister is like that and i love her dearly just has me laughing inside.

I love reading threads Xenia is on as imho in an ideal world i think some of her views are great but in reality they dont work for me IRL but find it refreshing she has the baws to say so, as do those who activly disagree with her. AIBU is a platform for saying out loude those things that enter your head, wether they be funny seriouse totaly outragouse or contaversial.

NerdyFace · 03/11/2010 10:56

OP, your getting nowhere.

This thread was pointless and only intended to cause friction in the community.

You obviously have sand in your crevice about something, so why dont you go off somewhere else so the thread can die and we can all move on with our lives M'kay?

BrownPaperBagOnMyHead · 03/11/2010 10:58

yep, justify your reasons by all means

but the moaning and griping here is unnecessary

the polar opposite to your pov is not bullying

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 10:58

Sorry OP for saying tha you are attention seeking for mentioning the abuse - that was actually very low of me.

Look, you seem like a perfectly nice mumsnetter. Just LEAVE these daft threads and don't take offense at anyone.

Mumsnet is great fun and is incredibly supportive (as you know from Stately homes). Xenia is not offensive tbh. Just LEDDIT GO

GallumDrawnAndQuartered · 03/11/2010 10:58

is gino da campo really your dh?
