I am quite new and keep seeing references to the mumsnet "heavies" on other threads. Am intrigued. Who are these people please?
"Heavy" because of strong opinions? Especially articulate posters? Nasty?
Or dos it refer to people officially involved with the actual running of musnet?
Please enlighten. I'd love to know who they are and why so called.

I know Riven sorry, it just takes me such a long time to type, I am usually answering someone halfway up a thread.

Iwishiwasalive · 30/10/2010 19:53

That's another problem I have JoBettany. I take so long typing on the iphone as DH usually has the the laptop. It keeps changing perfectly normal words and I take so long either the subject has been changed or everyone has gone to bed!

It is because they are, ehem, shall we say "horizontally challenged" and all the complicated mental issues that go with that means they have a lot of opinions, generally aimed at trying to make other people feel as unhappy as themselves.

As opposed to jumping from thread to thread with piss-poor negative comments?

Ahh the fly comes to the honeypot and certainly welcomed in with gently smiling jaws

southeastastra · 30/10/2010 20:37

mnetters thrive on negative comments, that the beauty of it, you can say what you think

scaleymcnamechange · 30/10/2010 20:47

Just done advanced search on the word "heavies" and it has only been used once in this context (by AnyFucker, herself quite a well-known and well-loved Mnetter) since 1st August.

Not in common parlance.

SpringHeeledJack · 30/10/2010 20:51

it will be now

AnyFuleKno · 30/10/2010 21:22

please ignore jameelaq, she is a nasty piece of work and only out for attention

jameelaq · 30/10/2010 21:27

Hi, BoysAreLikeDogs, I only used one sentence. Is that the one you mean? I mean a lot of fat people have issues and like to let their angst out in the guise of well modulated opinions in an anonymous atmosphere.
Personally I don't care what someone looks like, I'm just not that superficial but most people take too much account of looks, push stuff onto fatties, who get pissed off and defensive (quite understandably) and want to let their anger out but hide it by adding such terms as "I am fat and proud/happy/fill in the positive term" Laughable but understandable.

SpringHeeledJack · 30/10/2010 21:33
Confused

did you mean to sound ignorant there, or was it an accident?

Was quoting JameelaQ there by the way

BoysAreLikeDogs · 30/10/2010 21:44

oh

I was puzzled by horizontally challenged

Still am, tbh

I think you are fat-bashing but the lack of clarity means that I cannot at this moment be certain

phipps · 30/10/2010 21:52

My God. Hmm

AnyFuleKno · 30/10/2010 21:55

I can't tell you what I really think Jameela, it would just get deleted.

Let's just making you're not making much sense. The only thing coming through is your desparation to offend.

AnyFuleKno · 30/10/2010 21:55

*let's just say that you're not making much sense

yes I'm aware of the irony
