What is it with all the "am I pregnant" threads?

In this day and age, when a test costs £1 from the £1 shop and you can know the results in less than an hour (even allowing for the time it takes to go and buy the damn stick to piss on) do grown woman still post on the internet asking "am I pregnant"?

It's all for the drama. Of course the OP of the 'am I pg' threads should get a test. We know that. They know that. They just like the daft 'oooooooooooooooooh how exciting' posts that seem to pop up.

Firawla - a two-pack first response test from boots cost 10.49, I just checked as 30 quid seemed bonkers - think you must have been looking at their ovulation test kit which is indeed 30 quid (and a rip-off).

I'm pregnant too apparently! I'm having a boy who will weigh 13lbs 2oz, have blond hair and hazel eyes and was fathered by Boss Hogg (whoever he might be?). I too, am not convinced about the accuracy of this test!

I know what you mean OP but I guess it can be hard not to obsess when you have been TTC for a while. I don't mind those "is this a +ve test?" threads though, when you can't tell whether it's a line or not. They can be so bloody hard to fathom out. My test was but I didn't start a thread - I just took another test the next day and then another one after that to make sure and then another one to double check [hblush].
