to think it's a bit weird to do your make up in the changing room while naked from the waist down?

Was getting changed from swimming the other day and noticed a woman wearing her bra but not knickers standing for a good ten minutes doing full make up in front of the mirror. Is odd to put on your bra but not your knickers isn't it? Or am I an old prude?

It is very, very strange and NOT BRITISH!!!

What's wrong with getting dressed before putting on makeup?

MooMooFarm · 18/10/2010 14:39

She's an exhibitionist. Were they saggy or did she have something to show off about? Grin

bran · 18/10/2010 14:39

Maybe she forgot she didn't have pants on. I often have nightmares about that very thing, although in my dream I'm usually walking down the street with people pointing and looking shocked before I realise. Wink

deaconblue · 18/10/2010 14:40

I would always do knickers before bra too, seems odd to be happy with your fanjo out but want to cover up your boobs

Ive just realised I read this wrong Blush

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 18/10/2010 14:43

I put my make up on before getting dressed, but only at home.

If I were only going to put on one piece of underwear, it would be pants rather than a bra though.

pagwatch · 18/10/2010 14:49

YANBU . The badger should be in its sett

pjmama · 18/10/2010 14:54

Yes that's very weird!

TrillianSlasher · 18/10/2010 14:56

Mybe she is letting her bush air-dry.

Better than using the hand dryer...

capricorn76 · 18/10/2010 15:47

I don't get why people do this type of thing, it used to make me feel uncomfortable at the gym. I'd be sitting there doing up my shoes and there would be women who just didn't seem to want to put their clothes on waving their fannies about in my face!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 18/10/2010 15:49

This has put me in mind of the thread by a mumsnetter who went swimming with her family - she and her dd (I think) got changed in the ladies changing room and went out to the side of the pool whilst her dh and ds got changed in the gents changing room.

At the side of the pool, she carefully removed her tankini bottoms, folded them up and put them on a chair, before starting to blow up the armbands/swim rings etc. It wasn't until her husband came out of the changing rooms on the other side of the pool, clocked what she'd done, and mouthed "Your minge!!" across the pool at her, that she realised what she had done!!

Perhaps this lady had suffered a similar lapse of concentration!

BloodyMissIzzy · 18/10/2010 15:50

Agree capricorn, there's no harm in getting dressed in full view (although personally I'm the first in line for the cubicle), but why swan around starkers? Surely just get out of the shower, dry off, and put your clothes straight on?

And to answer the OP, I also agree, very odd.

traceybath · 18/10/2010 15:54

Perhaps she doesn't wear knickers.

Tis odd though but then I am not body confident enough to do that strutting round half naked thing.

TorcherQueenie · 18/10/2010 15:55

Staying the poor womans never going to live that down is she? Grin I belive the threads in MN Classics now.

To the OP very very strange would rather show my boobs than my 'badger' as Pag put it oh so well Grin

LynLiesNomoreZombieFest · 18/10/2010 15:55

There is a lady at our local gym who stands completely naked slathering herself in body lotion and then putting on her make up, drying and straightening her hair.

She must derive some sort of please doing this, I had an 80 minute game of squash came back to change and she was still naked.

I'm all for a lack of inhibition (in others) but the is strange.

FindingMyMojo · 18/10/2010 15:59

I think I might know her!! I have a friend that does this - very weird! She is very proud of her body, apart from her boobs & will swan about naked as long as possible in any changing room, incl doing full make up, hair etc. I just couldn't do my face without all the other bits in place first.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 18/10/2010 16:36

Torcher - I did try to find the thread, but couldn't. Grin

Housewife2010 · 18/10/2010 17:09

I think that knickers should always go on before a bra. I'm always telling my DH off for undressing in the wrong order. OK he doesn't actually wear a bra (!) but he should take his socks off before his pants.
Re the exhibitionist, that is plain wrong, but I wish that I had the body & the confidence to do it.

alemci · 18/10/2010 17:15

perhaps i am a prude but i don't think i would even let anyone see my bum in a changing room let along stand there doing my makeup.

HuwEdwards · 18/10/2010 17:18

A woman once engaged me in conversation in a changing room, facing me, with one leg up on the bench, whilst she dried her foot. It was winking at me.

HuwEdwards · 18/10/2010 17:20

How can you be proud of how your fanny looks? I mean unless your bush is trimmed like delicate lacework or has ornate fancy topiary ...I mean how would one differentiate between an attractive and an unattractive one?

mumblechum · 18/10/2010 17:21

I would assume that she was a lesbo hoping for some cottaging action.
Wink

capricorn76 · 18/10/2010 17:24

@HuwEdwards. I know a woman who used to get her bush cut into patterns like lovehearts etc, she also gets it dyed pink etc. Maybe this lady has done this too and is very proud?!

proudnscary · 18/10/2010 17:28

I do rather shudder at women who thrust their lady gardens at everyone in changing rooms. It's always the ones with the overgrown hedgerows as well.

HuwEdwards · 18/10/2010 17:29

Capricorn - ok, now she could 'out' her bush with pride - in fact I might even be pushed to comment aesthetically. But wandering around with any old run of the mill bush is just odd.
