See, I just take each thread as it comes and either read, post or hide as the mood takes me. I don't really notice the ratio of snobby posts to non-snobby posts.

i think that there is quite an even mix of the 'snobs' and us normal folk the same as there is ALOT of people who cant see a lighthearted thread for its funniness and go on about the serious aspects of EVERYTHING and equally there are a vast amount of wonderful, funny quirky MNers...thats what i love about MN i get to mix with people from all walks of life

That was the very first post I ever read on here, but subsequent ones have been more sane.

its not snobby to acknowledge that everyone is different with different backgrounds and vastly differing home lives...i would seriously object to being called a snob...

Personally, i just ignore posts I don't like. I just use mumsnet to find out info... although it is fun to have a nose into people's lives.

but i always find mumsnet seems to have huge cross section of people using it... or is that just my opinion?
