What's SWALK?

vbusymum1 · 12/10/2010 17:17

If we're reinstating SWALK don't forget NORWICH

MardyBra · 12/10/2010 17:17
FrogInAJacuzzi · 12/10/2010 17:19

Sealed With A Loving Kiss.

I think. From the old-fashioned days when people wrote letters.

I find LOL irrationally annoying. Perhaps it's a syndrome.

Aitch · 12/10/2010 17:20

DON'T MENTION NORWICH. Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/10/2010 17:20

Getorf Loves Mardy IDST

vbusymum1 · 12/10/2010 17:21

why not aitch?

Aitch · 12/10/2010 17:22

lol. (please note non-ironic lol)

oh, ancient and bloody history. arf.

AbsofCroissant · 12/10/2010 17:23

But SWALK sounds like something a seagull would say when you're strangling it. Not particularly romantic ...

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 12/10/2010 17:25

"Getorf Loves Mardy IDST"

I am going to sue David Cameron. I read that as some secret code for Ian Duncan Smith (Tory) and wondered that Getorf loves him. I have been Tory-Brain-Washed.

GetOrfMoiLand · 12/10/2010 17:26

lol (non ironic) at Ian Duncan Smith

OrmRenewed · 12/10/2010 17:26

I agree.

I set up a facebook account and let my DD use it (under close supervision) to contact the friends from her old school. Everything gets emailed to my account - and every other f*ing post is lol! Even when nothing funny has been said.

DS#1 now says it to me to wind me up!

proudnscary · 12/10/2010 17:30

I hate lol

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 12/10/2010 17:31

Why is everyone laughing, all the time? Or do they just wish they were? Or am I missing some massive, massive joke?

Or IS IT JUST A SUBSTITUTE FOR PUNCTUATION?

I'll be there @8 lol what u wearing lolx

No, you need a nice little comma there, and a nice cute little questions mark there.

Angry Grin

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 12/10/2010 17:31

Evilants (FAB name, btw)

Yes, it is Punctuation for Dummies.

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 12/10/2010 17:31

questions

The shame.

LoopyLoops · 12/10/2010 17:33

But people actually use it in conversation. That is worse.

And OMG.

Kids used to say "Miss, CBA, do I have to?"

GhostlyMissBeehiving · 12/10/2010 17:39

lol @ the fish getting her fins in a knot over lol Wink. Hun is far worse in my book.

Aitch · 12/10/2010 17:58

i'm sure that's true, btw, that it's punctuation for the sub-literate. there was some research done into the word 'like' as well, very interesting, it actually has a distinct meaning rather than just filling a gap in a teenage sentence.

Grandhighpoohba · 12/10/2010 18:02

I want to declare war on OMG. It makes me think the poster is Paris Hilton and in need of a slap.

lol

beingsetup · 12/10/2010 18:08

ofgs! lol!

snigger · 12/10/2010 18:09

I think arf is the MN lol, but I feel my mill-worker roots thrashing against the traces when I use it.

The day I substitute a number because I'm too idle to type the corresponding 3 or 4 letters is the day I implode, I have to say.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 12/10/2010 18:39

yy, an excellent name lol evil

and your observation is spot on.

mumbar · 12/10/2010 18:46

LOL! I thought this thread would be about people lolling around and leaning on your front drive wall or something!! Didn't see that one coming Grin

pickledbabe · 13/10/2010 11:27

DH has gone to Norwich today. Hmm

I don't like that one anyway, because it's a bad spelling error

a friend of mine says lolzars - it's a sarcastic thing, and he explained it once to me, but he speaks really, really fast and I couldn't understand him. And he couldn't be arsed to repeat it all, so I had to take his word for it.
